Yaa John it true I cant spell for ship, never have been
much of a speller.
Speaking of ship, I wish you and Joy could be with us
in Vancouver. The cruse to LA should be a blast.
Scott is here in Santa Rosa until this evening. He
been here since last Friday and it has been great
having him in from Paris. Zip, Liz and Sofie will be
here for the 4th of July and Beth and Michelle will be
here on July 11.
It great to see so many of my children here all around
the same time this summer.
Suzanne and I are really looking forward to seeing you
guys that are going on the cruse from Vancouver to Los
Angeles.

Hi Everyone,
I wanted to ask all of you prayer warriors to be in
prayer for Joy's mom. She had a heart attack on Saturday,
and will be undergoing bypass surgery tomorrow (Tuesday).
Those of you that were here for my birthday (wasn't it
grand) know that she's a tough old bird (79 years), and
will probably do fine, but it will be a long process, so
please keep her in your prayers...

Hi Everyone, Thank you so much for your concern for Joy's
mom. Her name is Eileen Watson...Her surgery was moved from
Tuesday to Wednesday (this morning) She had 4 bypasses and
the doctor thought she was doing pretty good. Her heart was
at about 50%...but he thought that it would improve as the
new veins took hold and blood could actually flow through
her heart..All the prayers I know helped this go so
smoothly. I love you guys so much...I never take for
granted how much we all love each other....What a blessing

I'm feeling today... to think that we can still actually DO
THAT everyday, anytime and anyplace ... be FREE to be
PATRIOTIC and to pray for those in need or worship
the way we please in a country where, in spite of how
depressing the nightly news can portray things, there are
still people who genuinely care for each other and
have a desire to help out in times of trouble...
What more can I say? I have seen the love and support of
this family like NO OTHER and as Johnny said, I NEVER
TAKE IT FOR GRANTED!! We were raised by TWO of the most
loving people ever to live on this earth and that they
instilled that LOVE in all of us to continue the CIRCLE
for generations to come!!!! I THANK GOD FOR EACH AND
EVERYONE OF YOU!!!
I just want to say I am thinking of you today and hoping
that we all have a SAFE & HAPPY 4th!!!
I love you more than words can say... And PRAISE THE LORD
that Joy's mom, Eileen will have a SPEEDY RECOVERY!!!

Hi Everyone,
I wish I had better news to report. Joy's mom
has not been coming along as the doctor had hoped. About 3
days after surgery she had a medicine reaction and had
to have the breathing tube put back in...she was very week.
But as a few days passed by, she seemed to be slowly
improving...they even had her out of bed yesterday. But last
night, she went into some kind of heart arrest, and had
to be shocked to get it back....then, the heart
started beating real fast without moving any blood...Joy
said even late last night her heart was still jumping. I
don't know what will happen from here, so please continue
praying for Eileen and the rest of the family (3 brothers
and Joy)..We already know what a tough time this is....

Hi Everyone,
I haven't given any updates, because it's been so up and
down. One minute she was doing fine, the next minute not.
She stayed in intensive care for almost 3 weeks. We now
pray that she's turned the corner. Yesterday she had a
pacemaker/defibulator installed, and the procedure went so
well, she went back to her room instead of ICU. I haven't
heard this mornings update, but hopefully she'll be coming
home the end of this week. Thank you all for your
thoughts, prayers, and concerns. Maybe the next update will
find Eileen rollerblading and wakeboarding!!

The Stevenson Clan. The unitedness, the fun, the craziness,

anything on this letter. Now do not get too excited because
I am only going to wish all of you who have had babies,
birthdays, anniverseries, graduations or any other special

Now for those of you going on the ship, in 28 days, here is
some information I think will be helpful.

We will be staying at the Merriot Renessance Hotel on the
Harbor. Take a cab from the airport and it should be about
$20.00 Canadian.
I reccommend that everyone bring casual clothes for the
ship including a sweater, light coat. For foraml night I
will be wearing a suit with a turtleneck and Daine will be
wearing some type of pant suit. I will also be bringing
some shorts as you never know what the weather will be like
and you may be glad you have them.
Tuesday will be arrival day and some of you may want to go
sight seeing. Wednesday will definately be a sight seeing
day. We can take our luggage to the ship by 10:00am and
then go do the tour things. We should be ready to board the
ship by about 3:00pm.
LET THE FUN BEGIN. I love you all and look forward to
seeing you on board.

Hello Sailors,
My last attempt did not come through. I just wanted to
give a womans view on what is needed for the cruise. BASIC
BASIC BASIC! There are so many activities day to day, that
it is hard to plan for your outfit. My suggestion is bring
a pair of dress pants and a pair of jeans, and bring more
in shirts/tops to go with those pants.Formal night is what
you make of it. I have seen formal dresses and tuxes down
to sport coats and dress pants and sweaters for the
ladies. Just remember pictures will be taken. I will be
bringing a black cocktail dress.
*****Important******
Everyone should bring a small empty(backpack)type bag. The
last night of the cruise, your luggage has to be ready by
9:00pm. They come by and pick it up while your at dinner.
So you must keep aside all your bathroom needs and an
outfit to wear for the departing day. So the backpack will
be used for your bathroom items and the formal outfit you
wore the night before. If you have any questions email me

I am looking forward to seeing everyone. The cruise is all
about doing things you never thought you would do, having
a great time, relaxing with friends and family, and
EATING!!!.

exciting to see total strangers whoop and hollar for LOCAL
entertainment? For the most part a HUGE crowd stayed the

latest song MISS MICHIGAN is our new favorite...can't wait
for the next CD...so thanks again for ALL YOUR SUPPORT! I
know Cole really appreciates it and I know it's the fuel
that keeps him and the band keep pushing forward... I love

Hello everyone,
This is Gary Hull calling out for a prayer from each and
everyone of you. My girlfriend Cassandra Nephew Caleb is
waiting for heart transplant since June 25th 2002, he has
Pulmonary Stenosis, which means, His Pulmonary valve is not
open enough to let Oxygenated blood flow easily. Caleb was
also born with VSD, which is a hole in his heart. But
since, that closed up by the time he was 15 months. Than
he developed ASD, another hole that will not close up by
itself. Now both of these are surgically repairable. Caleb
has Cardiomyopathy, this is like a virus in his heart
muscle. This is not repairable.
Cassandra and I would love for you all to visit his web

in desperate need of help. If any iterested in donations
or just giving a little prayer for Caleb and his family
just go onto the web site check out some pictures and some

Well,
I can only speak for myself and Diane but I can tell you
that this cruise was a blast. And I am convinced that the
reason it was a blast was that there were so many family
members there who had no idea what to expect on this ship.
The only unfortunate mishap was that Kell and her
girlfriend missed their flight in Phoenix and they did not
make the cruise. NEXT YEAR they will leave an extra day
early.
Vancouver Canada is beautiful and we took a city tour on
Wednesday, in fact we had the whole bus. Then at 3:00pm we
all started to board this magnificant ship. I must say that
this ship was by far the best in terms of size,
resteraunts, lounges, movie theater, swimming pools and of
course the Disco at the top of the ship.
The food was not as good as on past cruises but it was not
bad either.
This ship will not sail from Canada anymore as it is going
to be located in Asia next year.
There will be a new ship here next year and the trip back
from Vancouver to Los Angeles will make 3 stops. The first
stop will be in Victoria, which is unbeleivable, for the
day. Next it will sail for the whole day and stop in San
Francisco for the day. Next it will sail and stop in Santa
Barbara for the day. Then on to San Pedro.
This ship will leave Vancouver on Monday, 9/22/03 and
arrive in Victoria on 9/23. You will spend the day in
Victoria and sail on 9/23 at 5:00pm. It will sail the
entire next day and will arrive in San Francisco on Thursday
morning. You will spend the day in SF and leave at 5:00pm
that night. Then it will sai to Santa Barbara and arrive on
Friday morning for the day. I believe that it then will
sail to LA and arrive on Saturday at 5:30am.
For those who might be interested I can get EE rooms (like
the ones you had)for $768.00 two people. This is a heck of
a deal when you stop and consider it is 5 nights.
This trip is opened to anyone who wants to go but I am sure
we will have to have all of the rooms booked by January,
2003. So if this interest you then start saving your money.

Bob pretty much summed it up as to how much fun the cruise
was. I mean, it was so much fun to go walking around the
ship and run into family! Hangin around by the pool on
Thursday (well, except for Jim :() )Watching Terry win his
silver and then gold medals for water volley ball!!
Going to the movies with some of the family to
see My Big Fat Greek Wedding, going to the theatre to see
the "Dance" show that was comparable to any Las Vegas show.
But for me, the most fun was Karoake night. I did not get
the nerve to get up and sing but "KUDOS" to Terry and
Chris, Sally, Nancy and Danny for their incredible songs. I
laughed and sang and had so very much fun participating
from my seat. Even the foggy day with the Ship's horn
blowing every two minutes was fun. We all will have great
memories of that vacation and I hope that between the 10 of
us, we will get some really great pictures. Love you all,

Vancouver was a very special town, the Mariott hotel was nice
but expencive. The princess was huge and beautiful, tons of
food, lots of hot tubs, tons of food, a casino to loose your
money, tons of food, 14 decks of stuff, Great “Dance” dance
preformance in a very large theater aft, tons of food and
especially great, Family everywhere, Sweet!
Suzanne and I are at Zip and Liz’s here in LA til the 29th of
this month. As soon as we get back I have a mess of picture

Hi everyone.
John and Joy, Mary and John, we missed ya. Mary I'm sorry
to hear you got so sick while we were gone. Good thing
you were home.
Jane and Jim did a great job of not smoking, Terry and
Chris were like newly weds, Dan NEVER sang better, Brads
friend Danna was a kick, can't wait to see James' "in your
face photos", Esther could be a cruise director, Sharon
laugh at everthing Terry said (but then who didn't), and
fun was had by all !! I didn't even get dizzy on the boat
(sorry Diane...the "SHIP") till after I got home 2 days
later. WIERD!!
Next year will be even more fun with ever more people. I
love the idea of stopping in Ports-of-call. We hope to make
it too. We'll see. I love Esthers idea of always having a
speical place to meet in case someone's looking for others.
If anyone else has any ideas like that please write them
down!! All I know is when wonderful things happen like this
cruise I really know how blessed we are. Thank you Lord!!

Hello family !
As some of you know, I, (Esther) was very hesitant about
ever going on a cruise. In a
word, I was TERRIFIED !
Bob has asked us for years to go on one, and he always got
the same negative response
from me. Then, several months ago, he called and once again
asked about us going on a
cruise with him...I gave him my standard reply: "Bob, you
know that on my list of fun
things to do, a cruise is waaaay at the bottom of the list.
Bob then said; "Esther, all twelve
are going!" I then proceeded to call him a nasty
name....because he knew that he HAD
me. He knew that whenever there is a major family
gathering, I HATE to miss it.
To get myself psyched up for this event, I had to try to
deal with all of my concerns. First
of which was, I had a vision of being in a bedroom on the
ship with a very small round
window that was half full of water...... (probably from
seeing too many old movies! )
Bob reassured me that our rooms would not be below water.
That was good. First issue
resolved.
I think that my fears mostly came under the claustrophobia
umbrella; the major one was
about being out in the middle of a body of water and
feeling trapped.....not being able to
get away...feeling panicky. Then I realized that if someone
was truly ill, they could get
back to land by helicopter, boat, or whatever. Again, that
helped. It may sound silly to
some of you, but it was very real to me. I also decided
that before I got on the ship, I
would take medication to ward off any anxiety. I would also
have extra with me in case I
needed it during the trip. Second issue resolved.
The possibility of getting seasick was a small concern. So
I got the Transderm patch. I
wanted to deal with every possibility head-on. That was the
therapy that I used; I also
talked about my fears to anyone who would listen ! I think
that helped me also, I’m sure
that my family got tired ot it, but it worked for me. One
day when I was talking to Jenny
about it she said to me. “Mom, are you sure it’s worth it
to you?” I replied. “ Oh Jenny, it
absolutely is because I couldn’t stand to be at home when
they were all there, that would
be far worse. I have to do it.”
My big problem was that I had two issues that were
absolutely equal for me......
1. my total, complete abject fear of being on the
ship......and....
2. the pain of the whole family
being there without me !
Both of them were tough... and one had to give !!!
Since I love family events so much, I chose to work on my
fear of the ship.
I was talking to my 80 year old aunt a few weeks before the
cruise...and she summed it up
in the absolute best way...
I was on my cell phone with her, telling her my tale of woe
about how scared I was about
this cruise; as we were talking our house phone rang and it
was Brother Bob; I told him I
would call him right back. I then told my aunt that that
was my brother-in-law who was
making me go on this cruise. She, ever so cleverly
said: "No, Esther, he's not making you
go; you just won't let the family go without you!" (Pretty
smart lady, don't you think???)
I knew that staying home when everyone else was there would
have been too painful for
me to bear, so I gathered up all of the strength I could
muster and planned my cruise!
Dealing with all of my issues really helped. KNOWLEDGE
IS POWER !.
Let me tell you, that I was scared right up to the minute
that I boarded the ship; but I
never once entertained the thought of not going. The pain
of not going would have been
far worse for me.
And now that I have experienced my first cruise, I told a
friend of mine, that it has opened
up a whole new set of problems !!!! I now wish that we were
rich, so we could go cruising
more often!!!!! I absolutely loved it !!!!
It was such fun seeing everyone in Vancouver, hanging out
together in the hotel, Billy
playing piano in the hotel lobby, all of us walking several
blocks to go to dinner. Then the
bus tour of the city the next day, with just us on
board !...then someone yelling “Stop the
bus!”...and there walking down the street were Danny,
Nancy and Matt ! What would be
the chances of running into them like that ????
Then the bus took us to the ship for what I thought was
simply the registration process,
customs, etc. But as we stood in line, my superior brain
told me that we were actually in
line to GET ON THE SHIP ! OH MY GOD !! A minute of
minor panic ! I quickly
downed my first dose of medication, went through the line
and was soon on the ship ! Let
me tell you, that from that moment and for the duration of
the cruise I never had even one
second of anxiety ! I amazed myself ! No more
medication....no anxiety...no
seasicknesss....I was smoooooth !!! ( May I add that a few
others, whom shall remain
nameless , did have a variety of ailments, but NOT ESTHER !)
I wasn’t concerned about this aspect, but I had been told
that the bedrooms were very
small; I really didn’t concern myself with this before the
cruise because I had many larger
issues to worry about. I did imagine that the rooms were
so small that you just about
opened the door and jumped into bed ! Not so, I found our
room very comfortable, lots of
room on three sides of the bed, a little desk, a small
refrigerator with a counter on top of
it, an easy chair, and a TV, which surprised me, I didn’t
expect that. It was nice to have an
occasional look at CNN. And of course, we had our own
bathroom.
Entertainment wise, that was never a concern of mine, I
knew there would be lots to do.
We had meals together, did lots of walking, (averaged about
5 miles each day !), saw a
movie, “My Big Fat Greek Wedding”,played the slots at the
casino, saw a Vegas type
show that was amazing, played Bingo, shopped at the little
shops. And of course,
Karaoke night with Stevensons on stage. (poor Sally, she’s
so shy .) It was hard to
believe that all of this was happening on a boat in the
middle of the ocean !
It was all wonderful, not just because it was a cruise,
but because we were all together. I
now have ABSOLUTELY NO CONCERNS about going on
another cruise , and let
me say again, my fears were huge and they were very real. I
am giving all this detail in
hopes that it may help anyone else who may have some of
them. If I could do it, I bet you
can, too ! Call me....410-341-3171 ! I’ll help you

family cruise !
I do hope the family does this again and often. And if you
do, I will be first in line.

Mom, what an excellent write up. This would cost most
people $200 per session. I couldn't be more thrilled to
know how much fun you had. (of course I did not just find
this out today, I found out the day they got home) I was
concerned as Jenny was, you see we are a lot alike in some
of these departments, i.e. motion sickness and
claustrophobia - thanks Mom, (I wish I inherited your
spelling ability instead of these things, but I forgive
you!! :))
I, for one, do not do well on boats. Jeanne's family is a
boating family, I don't even do well on inland lakes
anymore with out getting sick, the "fear" of getting sick
makes me not even want to go, but the thoughts of missing
out does get the better of me (thanks to that great
Stevenson and as you know McAskin gene), but I won't go on
the Great Lakes and I do know when I go out on Higgins Lake
it probably limits the time others may want to stay out.
Next summer, I'm trying the patch and going with NO FEAR!
I may even go salmon fishing on Lake Michigan with my kids!
I will probably even try a cruise - it sounds great,
formerly going on a cruise was right up there with eating
broken glass. Mom, I'm glad your love of family is so
strong that you confronted your fears so well. Even at age
41, you're still teaching you little boy! Thanks

Thank you Bob and Diane for getting the family together
again so soon. We would never ever considered a cruise before
but now like Esther we want to do another.
Some of my fear was feeling like I might not fit in but
knowing the family would be there I knew it would be fun and
special and it was all of that and much more.
We most enjoyed talking with family in the buffet dining
area, by the pool, in the hot tub, the karoke, the great
dance show and the surprise party for Nancy's 60th.
The dance show was faboulous with lots of set and
costume changes, dancing and singing and even hydraulic
lifts. I had to remind myself we were on a ship. Thank you
Diane for getting us all there on time Saturday night. That
was what I most wanted to see and hear.
We met and talked with many interesting strangers
orignially from other lands but living in Canada now.
Everyone was so nice, friendly and open about their lives. I
think being together on the ship made people feel safe with
strangers.
It was fun seeing everyone all dressed up Saturday night
at dinner, in the atruim and halls.
Kelly, we are so sorry you and your friend missed the
boat especially after giving us such good advice about what
to wear etc. Your folks felt so bad but there is always the
next one. Congradulations on your engagement.
John and Joy, Mary and John you were missed but we know
you were there in spirit.

Hey family,
Although I've never contributed until now, I love reading
everyone's letters. But when I read Kelly's letter for
help with Bunco, I had to jump in for two reasons. First,
I had just read an article about How To Play Bunco, in the
November 1st issue of Woman's Day magazine. At the end,
there were two email addresses: www.buncogame.com and
www.worldbunco.com. I checked out both of them and
everything you ever wanted to know about Bunco and more is
in these two websites. There is even a first annual World
Bunco Association cruise to Mexico coming up, anybody
ready to go again? The second reason was, after reading
the article and going through the websites for probably
two hours, I started thinking about when we all played
this crazy, simple dice game called Bunco and how much fun
it was. We took turns carpooling from Canton to Holly and
vice versa every month. We started out with family
members, mostly women with an occasional husband (thanks
Brian, Gerry and Tom) or young teen(thanks Jeff, Sarah,
Leah, Melissa and Sophie) when we were short a player. I
think Sally was living in Zurich some of the time we
played Bunco and during a couple of her visits home, was
able to play with us. It's amazing how you can get so
excited when you think you're going to bunco, or when you
actually do bunco and then you scream! Mom or Grandma
Stevenson had her special roll and she would say, "Come on
baby!" Then, there were the Bunco prizes, it was always
fun to take home a prize. Little Sally was a very lucky
player, she took home lots of prizes. And the desserts!
What can you say, it's hard to turn down dessert. But
mostly, I think just knowing we were getting together once
a month with each other to catch up on all the stuff goin'
on in each of our lives was the best part. So, Kelly,
check out those websites, and if you have any
questions, please email me or throw it out on the circle
letter. There would be lots of input I'm sure. We did do
a couple of things different. We would buy a dishtowel,
usually a fun seasonal one. The first person to bunco
would get the dishtowel and it was passed to the second
person that buncoed and so on. At the end of the night
whoever got the last bunco got to keep the towel. If we
rolled a 1, 2 and 3 we counted that
for five points and we would keep rolling. Also,
everybody kept track of their points and wrote them down
every round and then totalled them up at the end of the
night instead of just marking down whether you won or lost
the round. We had prizes for most buncos, 1st place (the
most points), 2nd place (second highest score), the middle
(we added everybody's scores together and divided by the
number of people playing to find that prize winner) and
booby prize was the least amount of points scored. I'm
sure you'll have a lot of fun playing Bunco. By the way,
congratulations on your engagement!

Hi there everyone...
Kelly- I too loved reading your letter about wanting to
start up Bunco... When Sally and I were 6 or 8 years old
and Grandma and Great Grandma Stevenson would be having
their Bunco in the basement on Hartwell in Detroit,we
thought that was the COOLEST thing in the world to hear our
Aunts and older couzins all screaming with delight when
someone got a Bunco!! We couldn't wait till we were old
enough to play too!!! But by the time we WERE old enough...
Most everyone lived so far away from each other that bunco
just sorta drifted away...
Then years later it got started up again but with my work
schedule I could BARELY get a free night to play :( and
once again.. it has sort of drifted by the wayside... I
think it was the getting together to gab about what was
going on in our lives that added to the fun also and I only
wish YOU lived close by ( along with all the out of state
ladies) to revive it once again!!!
I hope you have a blast with your friends and I hope your
mom goes too... I'm sure she has many sweet old memories of
how nuts a bunch of women can get when they are together
playing BUNCO... Let us know how it goes out there...WE
MISS YOU GUYS!!!

Hello Family...
For those of you who don't already know about Jim's mom, on
Monday October 28th, she fell and fractured her back. Jim
and I were on our way home from North Carolina at the
time.Things were going okay and they moved her to a rehab
floor where she could get therapy. She was going to come
home and stay with Jim and I on Friday Nov. 8th and I had
gone to the hospital on Thursday to get training on how to
help her. We had a great time and she was so anxious to
leave the hospital. I stepped out for a few minutes while
the speech therapist was there so I could get a cup of
coffee, when the Code Blue alarm went off and every doctor
and nurse on the floor headed right for ma's room. Talk
about being freaked!! Anyway, to sum it all up...she had a
stroke and now we have no idea when (or if) she will come
home. She has done nothing but sleep for the last two days
and she acts alot like our mom did. Anyway..please keep
praying for the Nichols family, this is so hard for all of
them, and those of you who know Mrs. Nichols..can you blame
them? Please say a few extra prayers for Jim's sister
Janice, ma was with her when she fell and Jan is beating
herself up real bad over this one. We love you guys and we

years...I saw it last November...it was so incredible...We
stayed out about 2 hours and probably saw 500 or more
shooting stars...sometimes 5-10 at a time, ...so if it's
not cloudy (it's
supposed to be cloudy here yuk!) be sure to not miss this.

promise, you'll be glad you got up early....If you do see

The Stevenson Christmas party is going to be

same place last year (remember how nice - kids running
around NOT near us! :o)

COST: 4 and under FREE... 5 - 12 - $5.00 and 13 and
Older $7.00
BRING: your own beverages and if you feel so inclined, a
goodie to eat after the meal.
The gift exchange is for those 20 & younger, $10 gift
i have pulled the names for the exchange so please be
looking to see who you or your children have, by mail, and

SECOND...
THe cousin party was going to be put on by Bob Boudreau
and Matt Hussey, but they feel that this year wouldn't be
the best year for them - so it is up for the taking...
any volunteers? I know a few people have expressed
interest in having it, let me know and i'll pass the word
and i believe the party has been ATTEMPTED to be held on
the same day as the brother and sister party, but it used
up some of our best babysitters and so we've let the host
decide what works best for them, also the theme if the
host so wishes as well -

Hi everyone...
Just a short note to thank all of you for your prayers
during our difficult time with Jim's mom. We brought her
home last Monday, and it seems like another Stevenson
miracle has once again happened. She is so much better
since she came home (and a little cocky too :)
We still have a way to go, she is very weak and has lost a
lot of weight, but I'm sure that after hanging around with
me for awhile..she will gain it back. Jim and I are going
to stay at her house and we have a lot of therapists coming
in to help us get her well again. Thanks again for your
love and your prayers. We love you all...Jim and Janie

In 1962 the freighter "Montrose" sank in the Detroit
river, underneath the Ambassador bridge. Dad took the boat
down on the river to get a good look at this ship...I got
to go with him, now I want to find out who else went...If
you went on the boat that day, please call me....I have
found a picture on the internet of the Montrose sitting in
the water (on it's side) and there is a boat in the
distance that just might be us!!!

Dear Family:
Tom, aka Uncle Tom, was admitted into the hospital today
after what appears to be a heart attack. He was having
some pain in his left shoulder, and quite a bit of fatigue,
so we contacted a family friend who is a cardiologist, and
he immediately met him at the emergency room. After
administering him an EKG "Uncle Donald" (who took care of
Grandma Stevenson) admitted him for further testing.
Currently, we are waiting for the results of the cardiac
enzyme tests which will determine if there has been any
damage. On Friday, he will be given a cardiac catheter.
Fortunately, all 6 of us kids, along with Esther, will be
here with him, as the Michigan kids are in route to
Maryland now.
Your prayers will be very appreciated on this Thanksgiving
weekend. We will keep you posted on his progress.

For those of you who didn't receive this letter from
Esther, she asked me to print it here:
Hello again dear family and friends,
I only have a few minutes to write this because I am going
back to the hospital to BRING TOM HOME !!!
His heart catheterization went well; showed only minimal
blockage, typical of someone his age, and they didn't have
to do anything about it....no stents..no
angioplasty...nothing. The doctor says that Tom's heart
pumps like a 16 year old, and the doctor, who is only 37,
would like to swap some parts with him !
Tom does have LOW cholesterol, and amazingly enough, the
treatment for it is the same as if he had HIGH
cholesterol......diet and exercise......and if they don't
work, go to medication. He will see the cardiologist in a
week or two and he can go back to work next week.
Now to the rest of you.....especially Tom's
siblings....your blood line does have a history of heart
disease. The doctor said that of course you all should have
your cholesterol checked....and he also said that you
should talk to your doctors and consider having your
HOMOCYSTEINE LEVELS checked. From what I tried to grasp
that is a predictor of heart attacks in people with history
in their families.
I'm off to get sweetheart now. Thanks for all of your
thoughts, prayers, phone calls, e-mails and pearls of
wisdom. I printed up the e-mails and took them to Tom this
morning before he went in for his procedure. He appreciated
them, especially yours, cousin Bill !

Just a brief note to let you know that Jeanne's Grandma
(Emilie)Adams died this morning. She lived 88 lively and
full years. She even still had a job and worked three to
four days a week making pierogies - the best you've ever
tasted! She worked up until she got sick in early November.
She went peacefully and had seen and spent time with all
her family. She will be at Schrader Funderal Home on Sunday
2 - 9, in down town plymouth.
She was well loved, and will be very missed by all of us.
Thanks for all you thoughts and prayers it meant a lot to
us, especially Jeanne.

Hi Everyone!
Everyday I look at this web site (5 or 6 times) and I
always hope that someone has added something....well, it's
been over a month now, so I thought it's about time...Joy's
Mom is doing pretty well after her second surgery (to move
the pacemaker to the other side of her chest due to a bad
infection) We are already looking forward to warmer temps.
even if it means cutting the grass again...but this year
James will play T-ball, so we get to go listen to all those
parents yell at the umpires again.....We'll keep you
posted!!

SPRING IS COMING. (PTL) NANCY AND I AND THE TWO SMALL
BOYS JUST RETURNED FROM DISNEYWORLD YESTERDAY AFTER A FOUR
DAY STAY THERE. IT WAS WONDERFUL TO SAY THE LEAST. THANK
GOD WE DIDN'T PICK LAST WEEK TO GO. WE HAD 70'S EVERY DAY
AND SUNSHINE. NANCY IS WORKING ON A DISNEY CRUISE FOR THE
BIG STEVENSON FAMILY REUNION IN 2004. WHAT DO YOU THINK?
START SAVING YOUR MONEY. WILL KEEP YOU POSTED.
AS MOST OF YOU KNOW, WE WILL BE MOVING ALSO TO THE CONDO OF
OUR DREAMS AROUND APRIL 1ST. AS SAD AS IT WILL BE TO LEAVE
OUR HOME OF 10 YEARS THAT WE LOVE, WE KNOW IT IS THE RIGHT
THING FOR US TO DO. IT'S FIVE MINUTES FROM THE RESTAURANT
AND FIVE MINUTES FROM CHURCH. WHAT COULD BE BETTER. PLUS
IT'S BRAND NEW AND WE COULD HAVE CHRISTMAS IN OUR CLUBHOUSE
IN 2004. IT'S NO SMALLER THAN OUR HOUSE NOW; JUST NO
OUTSIDE UPKEEP. WE WILL HAVE PAVED ROADS, SIDEWALKS,
UPSTAIRS LAUNDRY ROOM, LARGER CLOSETS AND BATHROOMS AND A
GAS FIREPLACE. OUR NEW ADDRESS WILL BE 5832 BAYPOINTE
BLVD., CLARKSTON, MICH.
THE RESTAURANT IS DOING GREAT. WE HAD OUR 10TH ANNIVERSARY
ON NEW YEAR'S EVE AND CELEBRATED IT IN STYLE IF I DO SAY SO
MYSELF. WE RECENTLY PURCHASED THE LITTLE MUFFIN SHOP NEXT
STORE TO THE CREEK AND WE CALLED IT "CREEKSIDE CATERING AND
CARRY-0UT". WE'RE SERVING MUFFINS, BAGELS, SANDWICHES AND
SOUP AND CHAI TEA AND ALL KINDS OF COFFEES ETC. SALLY
JEAN, CHRIS, AND YOUNG JOHN ALL WORK THERE AND IT'S REALLY
GETTING OFF THE GROUND. MY CONTRIBUTION WILL BE SOUPS,
CHILI, COLE SLAW AND POTATO SALAD.
BOB BOUDREAU HAS A GIRLFRIEND NAMED ERICA. WE HAVEN'T HAD
A GOOD CHANCE TO GET ACQUAINTED YET; BUT, WHO KNOWS, THIS
COULD BE THE ONE. (CAN YOU TELL I'M HOPING)?

first let me start out by re-phrasing my moms statement of
a stevenson reunion being a disney cruise... we were
talking and thought it would be so fun to do one and
possibly have a group of us, (almost making it a reunion)
take a trip of a life time,
especially if you have little ones - to see it through it
there eyes is the best thing ever!!!!!!
well anything disney is of course FIRST class and so is
the cost of such a trip - the price is steep, but what's
included is alot. I breifly checked out prices for 7 DAY
LAND & CRUISE trip (price does not reflect flight to
florida) maybe i'll start with telling you all you get...
4 night cruise to the bahamas and castaway island
(disney's own island), then 3 nights in an awsome resort
(Caribean Beach Resort) in the WWD resort, transit to and
from everything, 3 days of admission to ALL the parks (you
could enjoy 1 park in the morning and another in the
evening) including the 2 water parks the new sports
complex and pleasure island - okay ready for the price...
FOR A FAMILY OF 2 ADULTS AND 2 CHILDREN (ages 3-12) -
$3392.00 - I know you're thinking no way i can't afford
that, well that's what i'm thinking, but this estimate was
for the 3rd week in October of 2004 - and all you need is
a deposit to hold it and then you can make monthly
payments - well it's just an IDEA right now - what do you
think?
as my mom stated we just got back yesterday, from 4 days
of fun, fun and more fun. Just seeing and watching luke
and casey enjoy everything was amazing, i'm lucky enough
to have been able to do this twice, last time i went I
took Natalie and Bobby and they were 7 and 6 -
unbelievable that they are now all grown up 17 and 18 -
yikes that means i'm old too!!! (don't feel it... well yes
i do at times :o)
(one more thing - disney does cater to reunions with
special programs and free t-shirts and stuff like that!)

When it comes to food buddy, I like it!!! Now lets
see....One of the things I loved (still do) was the
mushroom and onion rice dish...I also liked the apple salad
Mom always made at Thanksgiving....I especially liked the
apple spice cake with the dream whip topping (another still
do)...Speaking of memories, to this very day I can never
eat potatoe chips and drink Pepsi without thinking about
Bob and Diane. Every time I ever went to their house,
Diane always, always served Pepsi and chips...(I
loved going over there) Esther made some fantastic soup
for Joy and I once when we went on our motor home
adventure, we enjoyed that soup for months!! (I know Esther
has made tons of great stuff) Hey Bob, remember how Mom
used to give you your own bowl of mashed potatoes!! And
Dan, I remember how slow you were at filling your plate,
most of us were done eating before you even finished piling
it on. Somewhere I have that recording of us at dinner
time when Gerry kept saying "Daddy Daddy Daddy about a
hundred times and everybody just kept on talking, it was
so
funny!!!! Seems like I remember how Gramma made
a pretty mean batch of baked beans (I wanted my own bowl
too!) And how fun was it to eat down at the beach all the
time!! Well, keep those food memories coming...I tell
you what, the lemon pepper shrimp at the Creek is pretty
hard to beat also!!! Can't wait to eat there again!!!

Man, Mom must have liked you older kids better !!! Being
one of the YOUNG ones (thank God) Mom got busy and her and
dad began to travel, mom had her own car, we had two
phones, the food you're all talking about sounds good
though. I'm sure those were the good ol' days. Just ask my
kids...I made killer reservations!!! Thank God Nancy still
makes moms' famous Sunday dinner for us at Christmas once a
year. I'm sure that's what you're all talking about. Oh
yea, I do somewhat remember a great meal or two at Tom and
Esthers too so you don't have to feel too sorry for us
younger ones (right Mary, Terry and Ger ? ) I still love

I have really been dragging my feet on this. I have wanted
to put an update on here since around the end of December.
So now I will. This is Lisa (so you don't have to scroll to
the bottom to find out) and I am waiting for my dear, sweet
husband to come back from sea. I can't divulge details on
here as to when that'll be. (before my birthday, let's say)
We have currently orders that put us in New London, CT for
this spring. We are leaving FLA (possibly for good) on
Memorial Day weekend. After 3 years in CT, we are
officially retiring from the Navy. (yay!)We are looking
into living in the mountains afterward. (TN or NC)But we'll
see what happens. I would dig staying in CT, but hubby
says "I GOT to live south of the mason-dixon!"
The girls and I are all doing well. Charlene got straight
A's on her last report card. Roxy is sweet as ever and
turns 4 in about 3 weeks. Oh yeah, speaking of food: A few
Sundays ago I made something called 'Pepsi Pot Roast' in my
crockpot. It was what I had been trying to capture (Ma's)
all these years! (My mother's pot roast, from the 1970's)E-
mail me if you're interested in the recipe.

I just finished catching up on all the letters since before
Christmas!!! I will be back on line in my own home in about

recipe for her homemade bread...but seems to me she just
through in alittle of this a little of that with no reall

Yes, we are snowed in...and LOVING IT !!!
It feels just like the old days in Michigan...in fact...the
Michigan people are fine....actually leaving their houses
occasionally; they are just very cold.
It has been really cold here in Maryland for quite a while
which is unusual for us.
We are lucky in that although we are snowed in, we are warm
and cozy. I really feel for those whose furnaces etc.
aren't working.
Tom works in Delaware and we haven't been able to get there
yesterday or today, because it is even worse there; we
would be going from bad to worse. The governors of Delaware
and Maryland declared a state of emergency thereby banning
all cars from roads the except emergency vehicles.
Maryland's ban was lifted late Monday and Delaware's at six
this morning.
The snow is really pretty (from the inside !) Kathy's kids
have been out in it for a little play time. Of course, baby
Marshall is not allowed outside ! Tom is having the best
time fixing things around the house and playing in his
garage. I'v always said that my idea of winter sports is
making hot chocolate for the troops !
Almost everything around us has been closed, airports,
schools, doctor's offices, the mall....and most important
of all, the hair and nail salons ! Also, we haven't been
able to get out to get our copy of USA TODAY. that is very
sad !!!!
We always loved our snow ins when we lived in Michigan, and
this is a rare one here. It makes us count our blessings
that we have all the necessary creature comforts.

Hello Everybody,
As usual I have taken way to long to add to this Epic called
“The Circle Letter”.
First off: HAPPY BIRTHDAY ESTHER! You are the one that has
inspired me to write this letter.
Hear are some of the thing that are happening with Suzanne
and I here in Santa Rosa
THE GOOD NEWS:
I have become sales director for Flint Point Brass Company a
company that I worked for from 11/16/1989 thru 7/25/1997.
Six week ago the owner call me up and ask me If I would
become Director of Sales For Flint Point, and after talking
it over with Suzanne, We agreed, and I now direct sales for
the entire company.
THE BAD NEWS:
Suzanne has been diagnosed with Diabetes. And Has settled
into a maintenance program for the disease. She will be
required to do this program for the rest of her life.
As for me, since I last added to this journal I was diagnosed
with Cronic Hepatitis “C” and am currently takeing Chemo
Therapy to rid my body of this liver destroying disease.
Its not pretty!
Some small amount good news, the kind of Hepatitis “C” that I
have is the “most cureable” kind. The viral load I am
carrying is very low.

Hepatitis C
Hepatitis C is a viral infection of the liver. The type I
have is chronic, and can lead to cirrhosis and liver cancer.
It's difficult to treat, and harder to cure. Diagnosis is
based on the antibodies my body produces in response to
hepatitis C infection, liver biopsy, and/or a PCR test that
directly measures the hep C viral activity in my blood.
I am a carrier, and have a persistent infection. When to
treat and the best way to treat hepatitis C is not yet
compleatly known.

Hear is what I am Taking.
Once a Week I inject subcutaniously .25 mil of Peginterferon and
Twice a day: in the morning: 3 doses of Ribavirin
at bed time: 3 doses of Ribavirin

What is ribavirin and peginterferon and how does it combat
the virus?
Ribavirin is a nucleoside analogue. It stimulates the T
cells in the body to fight the virus. Peginterferon attacks
the virus by interfering with its ability to copy itself and
spread throughout the body. The combination of ribavirin and
peginterferon should be effective in both containing the
virus and strengthening the body’s immune system.

The first injection I took of Peginterferon was three times
what I should have taken. Taking that much mad me quite
sick, with a flu like fever (a BAD fever) and since taking
this combination of drugs I have “Wacked” but getting a
little less sickie each day. This therapy will last until
August 22, 2003 by which time I hope to be “Cured”.
Well Its late and as I said I’m Wacked, so I’m off to bed.

Good job, James ! When you called me last night, I had so
many questions about your disease and treatment. You had
such good, informative answers...and I knew that I couldn't
possibly absorb all that information in my feeble little
brain. I really felt that the whole family would want to
hear all that I heard, hence my request to share wth the
group ! You did a great job, we are all now a little
wiser...(and some of us older, too !)
You did sound tired to both Tom and I, and we hope that
when you get your chemo adjusted, you won't be feeling
quite as tired. The best thing that you told me that wasn't
included in your letter..so I will share it with the
group.....was....when I asked you how you were..you
said "much better than one hour ago!...) You said that you
had talked with your doctor then and she said that your
world was NOT coming to an end ! Gosh, isn't that always
good news to hear!!!! That tells me that you must have been
pretty frightened until you heard that.
I also appreciated the fact that even though you were
feeling so bad, you took the time to make your now
famous "Happy Birthday" call to me. Nice !
Now, Suzanne...you have to educate us also ! We are
somewhat dealing with the possibility of diabetes with Tom.
His cardiologist says that Tom is a diabetic "wannabe".
They no longer use the term "borderline diabetic"...you
either are or you are not a diabetic. (Sorry you now are
one !) Tom was told that the treatment for him is the same
as wha he is doing to be heart healthy....diet and
exercise. So we are keeping an eye on him. Please pass on
what you learn to us.

Dear Wonderful Family of mine,
Does anyone else think that James could have been a
doctor? Man you sound soooo educated to me. You really pay
attention when you are told something and that's a great
thing. Please do everything you're suppose to do. It's
scary for you to be so far away from us at this time.
Thank you for keeping us informed. God Bless you both. I
know that with the size of this family we can storm the
heavens with prayer and pour all our love out to you both!!
Tony and I are doing fine. Tony did some extensive
traveling to Asia again for 15 days. I wasn't alone for too
long because Teege was home for 8 days during Tony's
leave. I love how things work out sometimes. Speaking of

Ami Jane and Matt are still doing a great job of raising
our grandbabies (that I thank God for daily). Aim's still
at the Creek and Matt is working hard for his dad's company.

It never ceases to amaze me how fortunate we are to have
had a MOM and DAD who gave us the gifts of Faith, Hope and
Love as a standard to live by...How DESPITE how large this
family grows and how far we might have to live from one
another... we can be UNITED by this CIRCLE LETTER and
share our lives, our concerns, our joys and know THESE
THREE GIFTS will be used to draw us EVER closer...We have
so much to be thankful for!!!!
Suzanne we will be keeping you too in our thoughts and
prayers regarding your health... and Tommy,you too...all
these new health issues can be a little scary at times!
As dad used to sing " the old grey mare,she ain't what she
used to be..." this oldest living generation will ALL be
watching our health concerns through the coming years.
But for now...how fun it is waiting for the NEWEST members
to arrive (What are those due dates again??) What a joy to
know they are going to be welcomed with as MUCH excitement
and enthusiasm as the first!!!
SO, let's keep up the FAITH... hold onto the HOPE... and
continue this NEVER ENDING LOVE...the greatest gift of
all!!

Hello Family:
Who is having babies? Which Hull? Anyone else we should
know of? Feeling a little out of the loop out here in
Maryland.
Speaking of babies though, ours is wonderful. Marshall is
8 months old, and more of a blessing than we could have
ever imagined in our wildest dreams.
Life is great here. Chris and I are going to Europe in
April. Scott, we will be in Paris for 4 days, we'd love to
see you there, then we are off to Italy.

Howdy All,
Since there is all this talk about babies, Jill and I would
like to join in the fun. Yes It is true, Tom and Esther
have grandchild number 15 and family member number 29 on
the way. This is one end of the spectrum. On the other
end, this will be grandchild number one and family member
number 9 for Jill's side of the family. Baby ? is about 10
weeks old and 8 cm long (tall like daddy?) Everything is
going well, Jill and Baby ? are both healthy and very
happy. Our due date is Sept. 24th. We will give everybody
updates as we get them.

Hi Everyone!
Everytime I would here about all the snow many of you
enjoyed this winter I always thought "how come not us"
We only had cold and rain.......boo.....So anyways, I just
wanted tell y'all I will "officially" start mowing my yard
tomorrow, because spring has arrived in Alabama (today is
the first day of 70+).....I almost forgot how good it feels
to be outside and warm.....I know you Michigan folks don't
have a clue what I'm talking about, but don't worry, you
only have to wait about 3 months and you'll start to
remember too!!!

Hey everyone ...just a last minute update on Cole's band
CALLING MARVIN ...they are playing at MESQUITE CREEK in NOVI
tonite March 8th from 7:00 to 11:00 an all accoustic

Hello family,
yes it's true, Baby Hull on the way. Cassandra and I are 4
month's in the pregnancy, everything is perfect and
Cassandra and the baby are healthy and everything is right
on track.. The due date is Aug. 22nd. We just heard the
heartbeat, and we have the ultrasound on the March 26th. We
decided not to find out what the sex is, we want it to be a
surprise, any guesses. she say's girl and I say boy. But,
if it's a girl, the name is (Clara Jane) and if it's a boy
(Nelson James)...:) I'll try a little harder to keep you
all posted on any updates. Love you all and miss you too...

Our Dearest Family:
After many weeks we are finally back to our computer and I
have been reading the wonderful letters about everybody. I
can see Mom and Dad watching over everything from sickness
to yet another wonderful Miracle of Life to join this
wonderful family. Brother James, I am so sorry I did not
know of your illness or Suzanne's but rest assured we will
keep you both in our prayers and we trust all will go well
for you in your treatments. We are pretty much settled in
our new home and I am looking forward to putting in my yard
this spring and summer. I can't begin to thank everyone for
all that each of you have done to help us in this move.
Kelly has really been struggling with her walking and she
found out that her baby toe had grown outward from her foot
but due to not having feeling in her foot, she was unaware
of this problem until she started to experience some pain
in it. It had become infected and she went to see a foot
specialist. He is going to do surgery to put the toe back
into the proper position and we are praying when it heals
that it may help her with her walking. She still is on the
go quite a bit but it just takes a little longer. We are
having fun decorating our house and we want to send along a
special thank you to Tony and Terry for helping us intall
cabinets and our dishwasher. Tony built a custominzed gate
that matches our banister along our open staicase to the
basement to prevent Kelly from ever falling down the
stairs. Tony you're the best!!! The boys are doing well but
are both having a bit of difficulty in their college
classes but are hanging in there. Jeff and Shelly are
thinking about their future and hopefully we will have a
daughter-in-law in the next year or two. Ben is seeing a
friend from high school but they are taking it slow. I am
still very busy at my work and thank God that I have been
working steadily. Kelly and I are looking forward to
celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary on August 4th.

Hi Family,
Our fecundity runneth over! Wow! I can't believe how many
of my cousins are reproducing. This seems like the
appropriate time to let everyone know that Amy and I are
participating in this trend, and are expecting a baby boy
in late July. It is very exciting, and we are thrilled
(albeit somewhat intimidated) at the prospect of being
parents. So far Amy has had a relatively trouble free
pregnancy and our mid-wife has been extraordinarily
friendly, helpful, and informative. We will of course keep
you posted as our little parasite (as Amy calls him)
develops.
I also want to thank James for calling to wish Amy a happy
birthday, it really meant a lot to her, especially with you
fighting a serious illness. We want to wish both you and
Suzanne the best of luck in dealing with your medical
problems, so here's to a speedy recovery!
Other than working like crazy and reading about pregnancy
and parenting, Amy and I have tried to get into the
mountains as much as possible before her rotundity made it
impractical to snowboard. We got in a few good days, but
then had to switch to cross-country skiing. We've made it
to a few of the big peace marches here in Seattle (not that
it is going to make a bit of difference, but we've got to
try), and have also been attending a Spanish class at a
community college. My band (Azul) FINALLY found a decent
drummer and we will be playing our first show at the end of
this month. We are also very much looking forward to the
warm sunny weather that will soon be heading our way!!!

This letter is mainly for the twelve, but perhaps the
second and third generation folks might relate to it as
well.
I was going through some of my old stuff the other day (any
of you have old stuff?) I found a letter that I wrote to
Mom and Dad sometime during the early 80's. I'm not sure
what inspired this letter but as I was rereading I thought
that many of you might of had similar thoughts. Some of
these thanks were directed at Mom and some directed at Dad
and some for both of them..... Here are some excerpts...
Thanks for all those times you worried about me and I
didn't even consider your feelings...
Thanks for all that clothes washing you did for me...
I never washed any of your clothes. And all those meals you
cooked for me (even when I came home late for supper)...
Thanks for all those great picnics at the beach (and to
think I thought it was no trouble)...
Thanks for all those times you took me waterskiing when
a nap would have been much more fun (and needed)...
Thanks for teaching me about Jesus and seeing to it
that I had a quality education (I thought it was free)...
Thanks for being funny.. and thanks for being
sentimental...
Thanks for being musical...
Thanks for all the neet thing you built for us
(outdoor shower at the lake, ballfields, toboggan run)...
Thanks for my first pair of ice skates and letting me

WOW John,
That was about the coolest letter I have ever read. Boy did
you hit home with this one. I'll bet that everyone can
relate to almost all of the passages.
It brought back so many great memories and what we all took
for granted until we had our own children.
Thanks John, it was great.
Now I hope that James and Suzanne are getting things under
control. As we all get older life becomes so much more
precious, not that it isn't all of the time.
Well, Diane and I are moving to Arizona, but not till
November or December. We are having a house built and it
will not be ready until then. In the mean time we have sold
our house and we will be renting a home in San Diego until
our new house is finished.
The new address is: 5968 Seacrest View Rd. San Diego, CA
92121. We will be keeping the same phone number until we
move to AZ.
Everyone in San Diego is fine and we are looking forward to
those of you who can make it to Kelly and Don's wedding, on
August 23, 2003. It will be held at their house in their
beautiful back yard. Plan early and let us know so we can
start making arrangements for lodging. "THIS WILL BE A
BLAST" so do not miss it. Maybe we could all go to the
river after the wedding for some serious fun there too.

Isn't it amazing how something hits your heart so strong
that you have an immediate reaction to it? That is what
Johnn's letter did to me too,Bob... I just had to e-mail
him on the spot and tell him so, but upon reading your
entry in the circle letter...I thought I would reply too...
especially to the part about taking us skiing when a nap
might have been so much more needed... WOW! How many of us
now as parents can appreciate that?
There's a line in a Joni Mitchell song that says: "Don't it
always seem to go..that you don't know what you've got till
it's gone..." Well... I truly believe each and every one of
us DID know what we had in MOM and DAD while they were
alive but EVEN MORE SO after they were gone...and sometimes
those "shoulda, coulda, woulda" things creep in now and
then...(I shoulda called Mom and Dad more often than I
did,or I coulda had them over for dinner more, or if only I
woulda told them THANK YOU for all those sweet nothings
that John mentioned earlier...) but I also read a GREAT
little statement once that said "SOME OF OUR GREATEST LIVING
IS DONE THROUGH THE PEOPLE WE LEAVE BEHIND"...think about
that for a second- HOW TRUE in Mom and DAD's case...the
legacy they left to us and how ALL that they WERE will
NEVER die because it still lives in all of us to pass on
and share with OUR kids and they to theirs... The
INCREDIBLE gift of MUSIC being passed down to the 2nd and
3rd generation...it's SO incredible to see it continuing...
The GIFT of FAITH - so inspiring to see it intertwined
through all of us! The gift of LOVE which as I get older
and talk to so many people who weren't as fortunate as we
were...talk about TAKING SOMETHING FOR GRANTED!!!! I
thought everyone had a family as loving as ours!
So as I grow EVER OLDER... while I am still able to ...
I just want to say THANK YOU to each and everyone of you
for being a part of my life and how wonderful I think you
all are and how sorry I am that I haven't told you more
often!! Thanks, Johnny for inspiring me to remember how
important it is to NOT take our loved ones for granted!!!

Don't it always seem to go ... hey paradise...
Though some of our past may now be in the "parking lot" it
sure is blessed! I think about grandma and grandpa often as
I look at their picture sitting - appropriately so - on our
piano. Jonnny's letter did bring back so many awesome
memories. Though most of us grandkids are too young to
remember the outdoor shower, the tobagon run is a true
favorite of mine - that hill seemed miles high as a kid. The
Lake, Christmas, bows on heads, boating, Lady, the club
house and Camp Dearborn (or as grandpa would say camp
Dearbern).
On the subject of could of, should of - I too wished I would
have spent more time with grandma and grandpa. So dad,
thanks for one of the GREATEST gifts you gave to me -
sharing your time, during grandma's final months and weeks
with me. How I enjoyed sitting with you and her at Aunt
Nancy's house - you always sat her BETWEEN us, and also
graciously gave us some moments alone. Thank you, I'll
always treasure those times with you Dad! Also thanks for
teaching us to love, and to encourage each of us kids to
take the time to validate and thank grandpa for his life to
us - what a gift! Thanks Mom and Dad! Taking these beautiful
opportunities has given me the ability to remember them with
pure happiness.
So as thank yous go - thanks Mom and Dad for this beautiful
life and the gift of sharing those people special to you,
with us.
And though it is often awkward to express, I'd be remiss
not saying thank you to Christ, for his gift to me, which
gives me the hope that we will all be together again one day
in ...pardise...

Hello everybody,
One of the great quotes I ever heard was in 1957. I was
living in Las Vegas and had my own apartment. One day in
late November I was over at Bob and Sallys and was making
plans to fly back to Detroit. Uncle Bob said lets call your
mom and dad and let them know when you are arriving.
Although I didn't know it at the time, Billie was recording
our phone conversation. About 2/3 through the phone call
this little voice comes on the phone as say, "You know
what?" "I’M IN THE CHOIR! " and Uncle Bob almost fell of the
chair. It was John. “Helloooo NUCK” (he called John
KNUCKLE HEAD after one of the three stogges (Curly(Nuk Nuk
Nuk) Howard). I think Billie still has the original
recording. Reading your letter John, it reminded me of all
the times Mom and Dad and one, two or three of you guys
would come along with them, some times with your friends. It
felt so good to be back at home.
Thought I would share this memories with you.
Suzanne is doing quite well and I am also feeling a little
better.

I just got off the phone with Nancy, who just got off the
phone with our cousin Carolyn. She told her that Aunt
Virginia (who will be 89 next month) has lukemia. She was
feeling very tired and the girls took her to the doctor
and that is how they found out. She will not be getting
chemo-therapy due to her age, so they are going to treat
her with blood transfusions and lots of love. Nancy
thought it would be a good thing if we sent her cards to
cheer her up. Her address is..

I was walking along....
Minding my business....
When out of an orange colored sky...
Flash....bam....alakazam....
I GOT A GREAT IDEA !
I LOVE the family circle letter on the web that we now
have. I love that we can get breaking family news like this
week's news about Aunt Virginia's leukemia. And I love that
we can be educated about James illness and Tom's heart
issues....(have you all had your GOOD cholesterol checked?)
Of course, I also love the everyday just fun stuff.
But, I want MORE !
To you original 12 siblings, do you remember the early
days of the paper circle letter ? Remember how excited we
all were when that huge letter arrived at our houses, we
would set aside a special time to read and savor each word
of it. Then we would quickly write our letter, and ever so
quickly get it into the mail for the next sibling to savor
and enjoy. Then we would sit back and wait until the letter
completed the circle and got back to us again.
Alas, after a while, we got a little too relaxed. and some
of us kept the letter waaaaaay too long, so by the time the
letter finally got back to us, the news was very old. The
baby that was born in our previous letter was now in
college!!!
And then along came Scott !...(another song!)...to bring us
into the modern age by putting our circle letter on the web.
Now we can get all of the family news in a timely fashion.
But I find that I don't know as much about the families as
I would like to. We get news of somethings that are
happening, like Colin appearing at the Creek, etc. but
don't get a good overall view of what's going on in
each family.
I know that not everyone likes to write letters, that is
understandable.
So here is my brainstorm !
It is directed mostly at the original 12 at this time....
How about if starting with James....he and/or Suzanne
writes a good letter on the family circle letter on the
web giving a good overview about what is going on with he
and Suzanne and with their kid's lives.
Then 2 weeks later Tom and/or Esther write their letter;
then Billy; then 2 weeks later..Nancy ...and so on.
This way we would get a good picture of the lives of 2 of
the siblings every month; yet each would have to write a
really good letter only twice a year.
Everything else about the circle letter remains the same;
anyone still writes anytime, like now. Maybe in the two
weeks between these letters, our kids could write more
about their families, adding to what we may have missed or
correcting what we said wrong.
I wrote this letter ever so cleverly last night, when the
idea hit me...when my thoughts were new and fresh.... in
much more detail... I spent almost an hour on it...but just
as I was about to send it...I got kicked off of AOL !!!!!
So today my thoughts aren't quite as eloquent..but I think
you can get the idea.
Let me know what you think and I will push to get it
started.

I forgot to add to the first letter...
...another bonus of being in the modern age is...
..when the old paper circle letter was our thing...we would
sit at home waiting for our letter to arrive...only one of
us would wait for the letter to arrive...we would
wait .....and wait.... and wait...only to have it arrive
months late ! And the rest of the family had no idea where
the letter was at any given time, so they didn't know who
was slowing things down !
But now, with the addition of modern technology.. if we
ALL don't see the next letter appear on the web when it
should...we can now can ALL hassle the slow writer with
notes on the cirlce letter...or by sending e-mails to the
procrastinater.(sp.?)
That should give them enough of a guilt trip to get typing,
don't you think????

Dearest Wonderful Family,
We are so happy to announce that Jeff is engaged to a
lovely young lady named, Shelly Dolkowski and they are in
the planning stages of either a May or June 2004 wedding. I
have sent out some E-mails to our out of state relatives to
get some idea if any of you might be able to attend. We are
putting lists together and we know we have to cut some of
our guests out but will not do so until we know who may or
may not be able to attend the wedding. We apologize for
being out of the loop with the circle letter but getting
settled in our new home has consumed pretty much all of our
time but we are getting there and are looking forward to
everyone seeing it. Our prayers and thoughts are with you
all and we look forward to hearing from everybody. It
does'nt seem possible that our little Fourth of July
firecracker is going to be 23 and is in Love and all grown
up. I don't want to grow up when did he? Thanks for all
your love and encouragement. God is keeping us happy,
blessed, and so happy to be His Children. Thanks Mom and

Great GREAT idea Esther... But who will officially start

Well...we just got our power back on after FIVE days!!! It
really was great to come home and it made me think how
unfathomable it would be for those who lose their homes to
a flood or tornado or fire (I'm sure you still remember
James and Suzanne!?@#$!%^&*) having to live out of
makeshift shelters with all of your everday comings and
goings totally interrupted...WOW what we take for
granted,eh???
SO even our "humble" old mobile home felt great to come
home to... HOME SWEET HOME... Now Sal and Tony.. we're
hoping yours will be on SOON!!!
This snow in April is something I WON'T miss once it's
gone..those poor little ROBINS... where are they hanging
out while waiting for it to melt???
Well... it was GREAT to turn on the computer and pick up
where I left off... I missed everyone!! Can't wait for the

Do you remember how cool Camp Dearborn used to be?
I went to their web-site, and it looked about as cool as it
ever did...Has anyone been there lately? Seems like that
would be a tremendous place for a family reunion....
I loved going there....the last time I remember being there
was in 1976 on the 4th of July ( I had just met Joy, we
hadn't even been on a date yet) But I always loved the
campfires every night and the canteen and the dances every
night (they still do that!!)

My thought is that we time it like paychecks:... one would
write around the first of the month and the next letter
would appear around the 15th. That way we can look forward
to an more in depth letter about one of our sibling's
families.....and if we don't see a new letter posted around
those dates; we can begin to hassle the appropriate person !

begin writing about everyone of their grandchildren and
great grandchildren. They also mention that Tom was named
President of Pulte Homes.
Jume 1, 2008 - Bill & Sharon lost their computer in a
floating crap game at the Four Queens so they pass the
letter on to Nancy.
June 15, 2008 - it's finally Nancy's turn. She too has re-
read every letter three times and is preparing to answer
every one of them as she updates us about her family
happenings. She and Brian have purchased every Lone Star
and Outback Steakhouse in the world and have signed Terry
to play at all of them at least twice a year until 2035.
August 1, 2009 - Bob gets his turn in time to wish Tome &
Esther a happy Golden Wedding Anniversary. He and Dianne
are happily ensconced in Phoenix and are rabid Diamondbacks
fans. He has become a magnet magnate and owns Phoenix
Magnet & Other Exotic Stuff, Inc.
August 15, 2009 - Dan tells you everything there is to know
about the grandkids, his and Nancy's retirement, his new
titanium hip, his new titanium shoulder and his new
titanium golf clubs.

letters telepathically via esp.brainwave.
July 15, 2020 - Brother Dave finally gets out of prison
after embezzling $200,000 from the Family Circle Letter
Trust Fund and is promptly horsewhipped by the other twelve.

Hey, I didn't realize Uncle Dave was even out of prison.
That's great news. Does anybody remember the time he was
at the clubhouse and swam out to the dock that was always
full of duck and goose poop? A big Blue Gill jumped up
onto the dock. Dave grabbed it before it could get back
into the water and kept switching it back and forth from
under his armpit
and then between his thighs. What a nutcase!! I'm pretty
sure Uncle Terry was there with us. That was one of the
funniest things I remember Uncle Dave doing.
It's fun to see the action cooking again on the circle

the boudreaus still go to camp dearborn every year -
they have there complaints 'bout the place, but it's the
same, love the idea of reunion there.. we all have so many
great memories of that place! oh by the way the
disney cruise 2004 is still a go (well at least with me
and my mom and my little ones, no one else ever responded)
so still keep that in mind.
well tons and tons have been going on in my life, but
that's another day and time :o)

Here's the recipe, Nancy. I just made it a few weeks ago
for our Academy Awards Party.
1 chocolate cake mix (I use Duncan Hines)
Hersheys syrup
2 small boxes INSTANT chocolate pudding
Cool Whip
6 oz brickle bits (found near the chocolate chips)
Bake cake in 11x15 inch pan.
Make pudding per package directions.
Cut cake in small cubes.
In a pretty trifle dish layer the following so you can see
the layers on the side of the dish..
Make 3 layers of each: cake cubes
drizzle a little Hersheys syrup over
pudding
cool whip
brickle
I also like to add a few chopped up Heath bars on the top.

Dear Esther: LOVE the idea of a renewed version of the
circle letter but I will have to make a commitment on
reading our e-mails more than once or twice a month. I am
crushed to hear that Dave is out of prison and that he is
actually the 12th child. I was always the "Babe" and I
blackmailed Dave into enough trouble that he was to be sent
away for life. Where is he now anyway?
....back to reality------- I guess it will take us the
longest to be able to officially write our bi-annual letter
but it is nice to be able to hear what's happening in all
of our families lives. Thanks for the out of state
responses to Jeff and Shelley's wedding next year. So far
we've heard from: Tom and Esther, Kathy and Mike Marshall,

Hello Family,
Happy Good Friday to all of you. Today, as I am spending
the day with my baby, and carrying on the Tom & Esther
family tradition of listening to Jesus Christ Superstar
between 12 and 3, as we have done for as long as I can
remember, I became curious about the Stevenson family music.
Soes anyone have a recording of Grandma singing? I have a
small one of 2 songs with her and Grandpa the Tommy gave
me, but I would love for Marshall to have those memories as
well. How about a CD of Uncle Billy? Any of those exist?
I could also use some new Colin Music. TJ I have kept
pretty current on, and Marshall really seems to like his
music, anything new there that doesn't appear on his
website?
How about an Uncle Terry and Leah recording? Any of those
available???
What's up with Johnny Stevenson musically? Sarah? Anna?
Anyone else out there soing their musical thing? Marshall
and I listen to music prett much the entire time he is
awake, and I would love for him to grow up with as much
family music as possbile. My strongest memories from
childhood, besides camping, are of our huge family music
sessions at every gathering, so if anyone can help pass any
recordings down the Maryland way I would be VERY grateful..
If any recordings are for sale, I would gladly purchase
them also, ie..Colin, TJ etc...

Hi Everyone.
I'm back on line after a long 2 weeks. I've been enjoying
everyones letters. I did respond to them before our ice
strom, relocating our office and Easter but after typing
for 30 mins...I LOST WHAT I WROTE SOMEWHERE OUT IN SIBER
SPACE !!!! Where's young Nan when I need her? Anyway, I'm
trying again...
LOVE the circle letter idea. LOVE the Camp Dearborn idea
ALOT too !! These reunions take months to put together
though and we'd need some serious planning. Our time
together is so precious, therefor I'd be happy to set up a
committy.
Tony and I have started our remodeling (here we go again).
Ami and Matt are doing fine as well as Mattie and
Stevenson. T.J. will be in NY for the month of June.

Michiganders in the vacinity of Union Lake~Novi~Livonia
Milford ( give or take a few miles):
John and I have found a new church that we are VERY excited
about and I just thought if ANY of you out there are
floundering (like I was forever it seemed) searching for a
church you feel you could really JUMP into... well here is

This church is so warm and inviting and as down~to~earth as
any I've EVER checked out...and BELIEVE ME I have searched
and searched!!! I was beginning to wonder why I never found
a church I could call "home" while so many others seemed to
have found theirs...well.. NOW I HAVE!!! It is VERY similar
to Kensington Community Church ( which we loved but was 33
miles from home!!) It is located in Walled Lake near Maple
Rd. and Ladd rd. I knew the 1st time I went that I would
continue going!! I went home and told John that I knew he
would
like it too so he went with me and he agreed! He knew just
what I meant...then Sarah
came the following week and LOVED it and then EASTER Sunday
Cole and Amy came and Cole said he really liked the feeling
there...so FINALLY a church we can call HOME!!! The
pastor's name is Chris Kramer and he is 35 and would remind
you of a mixture of our brother Johnny and cousin Kevin
LaDuc... very approachable and very cool!!!
I am not saying all of this to anyone who is ALREADY happy
where they are... but I KNOW there are some who are STILL
LOOKING!!! So, here is some info. to check out! A cool web
site where JESUS CHRIST IS LORD but presented in a very
contemporary and people friendly way!!!
They have 2 services 9:30 a.m. and 11:15 a.m. We always go
to the latter... call me if you want or check out the

Well it is that time again. To those of you who might be
interested in going on the Princess Cruise this year here
are the details. This is open to anyone in the Stevenson
family who want to attend this year. If you check around
you will find that most everyone who went last year had a
pretty good time.
The ship will leave Vancouver Canada on Saturday at 5:00pm,
September 13, 2003 and return to Los Angeles on Tuesday
morning at 6:00am.
I also think if anyone wants to fly up on Saturday that
they check with Kelly and she would very much discourage
this. The ship is called the Coral Princess and it is brand
new. It will not stop anyware so it is just a 3 day party.
Here are some catagories of rooms that are available at
this time:
Mini Suite with balcony is $365.00 per person including tax.
Mini Suite w/o balcony is $325.00 per person includoing tax.
Outside cabin with window is $293.00 per person - this is
the type of room that most everyone had last year.
I will need 50% of the room by May 30th. and the balance by
July 30th.

Yes it is true! At 4 am this morning a 4.9er hit about
100 miles from Cullman...At first I thought the kids were
running down the hall, then I thought maybe some cows got
on to our property and were stampeding (still groggy) then
I saw Joy shaking and I thought she was having a nightmare
but when I woke her up she said she wasn't and I
thought...
no kids? no cows? no nightmare? Hmmmm.....
I fell back to sleep and when the clock radio went off at
5, they were talking about the earthquake that had just
happened and I knew that's what happened to us!! Cool Ehh?

Hello Everybody,
With this letter I am trying a new form (actually an old
form) of Circle Letter. It was suggested by Esther to make
this family snapshot a lot closer to the original “paper”
letters that we mailed around the country when we first
started the Circle Letter.
I am feeling about 85% better than I did when I was taking
Peginterferon and Ribavirin for Chronic Hepatitis. I am no
longer taking any medication for Hep”C”and It is possible
that I won’t be taking any more.
Beth has me on a program taking 14 vitamins and mineral a
day. This program seems to be helping, also Sister Nancy had
suggested taking vitamins and so now I’m doing it.
The doctor that started this program is Dr. Ray D. Strand,
M.D. The book is called “What Your Doctor Doesn’t Know About
NUTRITIONAL MEDICINE May Be Killing You”. Lots of good stuff
in the book.
My PowerBook computer was broken for 5 days and nearly drove
me crazy being with out it. It is hard to believe I felt so
anxious while it was broken. I have my road side business
“In The Wind” up and running and I’m now also sales director
for Flint Point Brass.
Suzanne and I spent last week with Beth. It was great to be
able to hang out and spend time together.
Suzanne will be going to Paris for a Month and hang with
Scott. She has some trepidation's about being gone so long
but I’m sure once she gets their she will love it.
Jerry, Cindy, Nick and Lindsey are all doing good. Jerry is
working for the City of Santa Rosa as a public works
supervisor and Cindy is working for the Press Democrat
newspaper and doing quite well with commercial adds and
layouts. Nick has become a expert on the computer and is now
selling computer templates subscriptions on line and is
starting up his own business selling template for $ 60.00
dollars a pop. Not bad! Check out his Website ”voidix.com”.
James, Chitomi, Jatomis, Joesph and Sammy all sound good on
the phone. James does occasional film “back ground” (Acting
with out speaking) work, appearing a while back at the end
of “Independence Day” as a extra in the war room.
He spends great deal of time with the boys (Mr. Mom) and
helps out by volunteering at several places, especially
school with the boys and the other children. Chitomi works
for Mitsubishi Bank and makes most of the money for the
family. She works from 9:00 am to 8:00 pm M-F. Jatomis plays
flute in the band at school and likes to draw Air Planes.
Joseph plays clarinet in the band (Sandy and Tom purchased
the band instruments for Jatomis and Joseph for Christmas.
Maybe Jatomis will be able to spend some time with Suzanne
and I this summer. He’s also going to Detroit in August to
see Sandy and Tom. Sammy is busy being a three year old and
loves talking his head off on the phone.
Beth is teaching Two hundred Second and Third graders to
play and sing music and will have a concert with all the
children at
Cedar Point. She also sings with the Detroit Concert Choir
and the Choir sings from time to time with the Detriot
symphony. Today she bought a “new to her car a CVR Honda.
Sandy and Tom are adding a addition to their house, the
addition is towards the back of their place.
Zip, Liz (and Sophie) are all well and are going to adopt a
Eurasian Baby Girl from Kazakhstan Russia. They will have to
go their and be interviewed to pick up the baby. Zip has
started a new retail business in Santa Monica called
“Hollywood Trading Company”. It is doing quite well for just
starting up. In the mean time his “HTC” Wholesale business
is doing great.
Scott is living in Paris France and is working downtown at
the “Phone Book of the World.com”. Suzanne will be coming to
Paris leaving San Francisco on May 7th (James Christopher’s
Birthday)
Scott has his own apartment and has a Chess Expert roommate
named Najib Draoul. Soon to have a girlfriend! That's what
he told me!
Star and Jennifer are moving from Davis California to Santa Rosa
and are buying a one bath, three bedroom $ 400,000.00 dollar
fixer upper. Amazing! Star starts a new job at the Santa
Rosa Memorial Hospital on May 15th this year. (Star was born
in this hospital). Jennifer get her Doctorate in Veterinary
on Friday June 13th at the University of California: Davis.
Star has been running in a number of Triathlons an that's a
tough sports event.
Well that about it from here the 30th of April 2003 @ 11:58
pm. As always with this form of letter so much gets left
out. I’ve done the best I could for now.

p.s. the reason I think this happened is because we set up

I am SO SORRY I missed your birthday... I had thought
about it all day while in Grand Rapids at John's Mom's
house and was going to send you a birthday e-mail when I
got home but John's Mom came back with us to stay overnite

Hello family,
Now it’s time for Tom and Esther to take their semi-annual
turn on the family circle letter, updating you on us and
our family.
For starters, on August 1st, we will celebrate our 44th
anniversary !!!! Is that hard to believe or what ????
Especially when we think that we are only about 37 years
old....but then again we do have 3 kids in their forties!
A few months ago I was talking with an old friend, one of
those that we don’t hear from very often, and I was asked
what’s going on in our family.......I said, “well, our
oldest grandchild (Melissa) is graduating from high school;
our youngest grandchild, (Marshall) just got his first
tooth, and our baby is having a baby! I thought that pretty
well summed it up.
Tom is still working for Pulte. He works mostly in the
Wilmington, Delaware area. That is about a 2 hour drive
from home. Since his little heart episode, we don’t want
him driving that much, and we don’t like not being
together, so now I go with him every week. One week I go
from Monday until Thursday, and the opposite week on
Wednesday and Thursday. He doesn’t work on Fridays. It
doesn’t leave us as much time at home as we would like, but
it sure beats being separated. We have a comfortable hotel
where we stay. I bring lots of projects to keep me busy all
day, including my cross stitch, of course! It’s gotten to
the point that if I have a “quiet work” project at home, I
put it aside or pack it in my hotel suitcase and work on it
at the hotel. I would go nuts being in a hotel room all day
with just a television, but with all the projects I do, I
call it opportunity time for me., of course, most of my
time there is spent doing cross stitch, I already have
several Christmas presents made. I also put together photo
albums at the hotel, and soon I may have the use of Chris
Palmer’s lap top computer, so I can add letter writing to
my hotel “TO DO “ list.
Regarding Tom’s darling heart: ....he is trying to be a
good boy, watching his diet, eating lots of oatmeal, and
some salmon. I haven’t yet succeeded in getting him to love
salmon as much as I do. He also goes to cardiac re-hab 2 or
3 times a week. He gets good exercise, while wearing a
heart monitor and is well supervised. That is a great
opportunity for him.
Once again, even if I sound preachy.... and I will continue
to preach to all of you Stevensons who have the same heart
history as Tom’s..... and that would be at least eleven
of you ! .have you had your cholesterol checked
lately???? And what about your adult children ??? Have
you checked all THREE numbers????? Previously most people
paid attention only to their overall cholesterol
number...that’s what we did, and we were always so happy
that Tom’s number was low...150 or even less. We talked
about this on the cruise, before Tom’s episode, and I
remember hearing a lot of you say that yours was
low too. We thought, how lucky for all of you Stevensons!
Now we know different...You must get all three
numbers....your total cholesterol...Your HDL which is
your good cholesterol...and your LDL which is your bad
cholesterol. Obviously if your bad cholesterol is
high ..that is a bad thing. But we now know that if your
GOOD cholesterol is too LOW...that is also a bad thing.
Our cardiologist and friend, Dr. Donald Wood, explained it
to us very simply...he said that LDL, the bad cholesterol,
is like garbage. The HDL is like garbage trucks, that haul
the bad stuff away. In Tom’s case, he didn’t much garbage
(LDL)...,but he also didn’t have many garbage trucks
(HDL),...so if he ever got some build-up or garbage
(LDL)..he wouldn’t have enough trucks to haul it away. He
said that we have been lucky so far, but we have just
dodged a bullet.
Tom’s total cholesterol in November was...139..it should be
200 or less. His HDL was 23.......it should be around 40.
His LDL was.......69..it should be 100 or less,
To treat it he takes 2 medications, Lopressor and Niaspan,
watches his diet to lose weight and eat healthier,
exercises more, takes fish oil capsules and adds real flax
seed to his cereal, juice, or any way we can get it in.
In March his numbers a little
better....total...130...HDL...26...LDL...73. He will be
checked again in June. Please, siblings, have your
cholesterol checked......I may have to interrogate each and
every one of you soon! I want to know what everyone’s THREE
numbers are !
I won’t go into detail about every one of our 6 children;
their 6 spouses, and our 14 grandchildren ! I wouldn’t want
to upset you, brother Dan !
However, I am extending an invitation to our 6 kids; after
you read this letter, to post a letter here about your
families. I doubt that we’ll hear from Mary; she doesn’t
spend much time on the computer. Doug, maybe you could
update everyone on your family for her??
May I quickly skim over a few milestones, please Dan?
Major story....Danny and Jill are expecting their first
baby around Sept. 24th.,,,That will be our 15th grandchild.
Melissa, our oldest grandchild will be graduating from
high school in June, and will be off to college.
Sophie will start high school in Sept.
Kathy had gall bladder surgery a few months ago and is
doing fine now. Jenny’s baby Marshall will be one year old
in June. He is such a joy to all of us. All babies
are special, but he is the first time that we have gone
through the pain and agony of fertility issues, that
experience has sooooo raised our level of appreciation for
babies. For so many couples, it is only a question
of “when” a baby will come....for others it is a
question of “if”....Sure makes us all count our blessings
over and over again.
Debbie sells candles for Party Lite at home parties. She
did so well that she earned an all expense paid cruise,
only a few people in her group won it...or as Debbie says,
she didn’t “win” it..she “earned it,” because she worked
really hard toward the goal. They recently had an awards
dinner, and Debbie got up and gave a little talk, which was
a total surpise to Michael, who was sitting in the
audience. She proceeded to tell everyone how much
Michael had brought to and for her life; home, family, self
esteem, and how wonderful he was. Then she surprised
Michael with a check for money that she had earned to pay
for him to go on the cruise.Michael said there wasn’t a dry
eye in the place ! . They leave on Sunday, from Detroit
Metro in a plane chartered by Party Lite, for San Juan,
where there will be 2 cruise ships, all for Party lie
people, then on to St. Lucia, St. Thomas, Curaco,
Aruba, and back to San Juan. The cruise is for 8 days/7
nights. Good job, Debbie !
We are looking forward to Kelly’s wedding in August. We
have four weddings to go to this year...and would you
believe...they are all... in a 5 week period of time!!!
Two of them are in California, and we didn’t think we would
be able to make 2 California
trips...but one day we got an e-mail from Kelly saying
that they had set her wedding date for August 23rd in San
Diego.....Our very next e-mail was from my friend Judy,
telling us that her son had set his wedding date....August
29th in San Francisco !!! How about that,
we can do both weddings with one California trip!! We will
drive from SD to SF because we have been told it is such a
pretty drive, and on the way we will stop and see Jack
Beacom who lives in Fresno, You older siblings remember
him, Tom’s buddy from Precious Blood days......Stevenson,
O’Connell, Beacom, Rooks. Memories ?. Our wedding schedule
is as follows: August 23....San Diego
August 29....San Francisco
Sept 6.........Suttons Bay, Michigan
Sept. 20......Berlin, Ohio
We appreciate the California people coordinating their
dates so thoughtfully for us, but couldn’t the others have
spaced theirs out a little better ??? And that 20th date
could be iffy, with Danny and Jill’s baby due date.
We are hooked on AMERICAN IDOL ! How about you ? We like
Ruben but we really want Clay to win. Wednesday we’ll know.
You would think it was one of our family, we get so into it.
We have another new favorite singer. I heard him on
televison, and called Tom (he was in
Delaware) and said don’t me ask any questions, just go to
the nearest record store and get a self titled CD by
Michael Buble. He did and we LOVE it. Michael learned the
love of the old songs and singers from his Grandpa. When he
was 7 years old, Grandpa would say to him “Michael, you
have to learn this song for your grandpa before he dies,
your know the old ticker, it ain’t so good any more, so you
have to learn this one for Grandpa ! Grandpa kept saying
that over the years. Michael is now 27 and Grandpa is 76 !
And he is still telling him to learn one more song for him.
Michael says that his grandpa is his best friend. Michael
is also doing several songs for “DOWN WITH LOVE”, the new
Renee Zellweger movie that starts today. On the CD, Michael
sings lots of “our” old songs...and wonder of wonders, you
can understand EVERY WORD he sings!!! I Love that !
Brother Bill...Tom is still waiting to hear you sing to us
in our car!!!! He said he placed an order a while back. We
can’t hear you !!!

Brother James, thanks so much for getting your letter on
the circle on time. Suzanne wrote to me saying that you
weren’t feeling well at that time and you were really busy
at work, and could we possibly adjust the schedule to give
you more time. I called and gave you the option of skipping
your first turn, and catching up whenever you felt that you
could. You said that you really wanted to try it as
planned, and trooper and family guy that you are, you got
your letter out. Thanks ! And please give Suzanne an extra
hug for trying to take such good care of you. Nice job,
Suzanne !
Brother Bill and Nancy.... we are looking forward to your
letters in June. .. Billy..June 1st, and Nancy June
15th,...why not start making notes to get your letters
started now. I don’t think at this time that the circle
letter format lets us start, stop and go back to wrtiing
our letters at different times, so I am writing ours in
MSWorks, and adding to it whenever an idea strikes, than
cutting and pasting it on the circle.
Lisa and Erin, I’m counting on you to help your Dad!
If there is anyone you know who can’t do their letter by e-
mail, please let me know. They can either send me a paper
copy of their letter, or a fax...410-341-6060...and I will
get it on the circle, I will also send you a printed copy

This state is absolutely nuts over Ruben..on vote night
the tv channels scroll the numbers across the bottom.
There is always a go Ruben party at his home church where
as many as 8 or 9 hundred people show up with cell phones
to do nothing but vote for 2 solid hours....I have to
admit though that Clay is very very good, but
Ruben....he's so smooth (like buttah) Ruben is also so
humble...you can just see it in his face!

Hey there Esther...
WE TOO ARE AMERICAN IDOL ADDICTS!!! We have never missed a
show since it started! We even tried to get tickets for
the American Idol tour coming to Detroit - but beginning
at 10:00 am when the tickets went on sale I could not get
thru...
"all circuits were busy" on both phone lines and on
computer line ...
by the time I finally did get thru ~ there were no seats
available except NOSEBLEED seats and at 48.00 a ticket
(after all the fees,etc) well... we decided that we'd pass
on it :(
Janie and I call each other after every show to see what
each other thinks!!! Didn't know of any other fans in the
family :)
We think it will be RUBEN too... but Clay will be set...
remember what Neil Sedaka said???
So our vote will be for the VELVET TEDDY BEAR!!!

Here is an update from the Plymouth Stevenson's (Tommy and
Jeanne) My Mom hit the biggest event for us - Sophie
entering HIGH SCHOOL - wow I can hardly believe it. She
has done extremely well and will be taking all honors
classes in the fall. She turns 14 in October - where 14
years have gone I have no idea. She plays on the school
volleyball and basketball teams. She is also quite a fine
piano player, with almost 6 years under her belt.
Carly is now 9 and going into 4th grade. - excellent
student! She also likes sports - basketball and soccer are
her games - she's pretty good. She is on the waiting list
for piano lessons (as is Dillon and me too!)Carly and
Dillon (and Emilie) play piano all the time and Sophie has
taught them a few songs.
Dillon is almost 6 - he'll be a first grader in the fall
and is a great reader. He is so curious, asks the dardnest
questions. My Mom calls him a little old man. He just
started t-ball and loves it. Emilie will be 2 in July. SHe
is a pistol - loves to be outside at all times (a lot like
her daddy) and talks up a storm. Full sentences - but hey
with 5 other "stevenson's" around her would you expect her
to be quiet? She is the love of our kids lives - much like
Danny was for us when I was a kid - and now my little
brother is having a baby? I still remember, that one week
my parents took him to his first day of kindergarten and
the very next week drove me to my first day of college at
MSU.
Jeanne is keeping busy with the kids at school, doing art
projects, etc - and the kids love it. She still does free-
lance graphic design part time from home.
She and I have a great time together and after 16 years of
marriage it just keeps on getting better. Mom and Dad you
have set a fine example of what marriage can be!
Work for me is going fine, but my main vocation is my
family - they are the secret of my success! I can't get
enough of them.
Jeanne's Mom is cancer FREE and looks and feel great!
As many may know Jeanne's Grandma Emilie died this past
December, and has left a void - but also a whole ton of
wonderful memories. She was very close to Jeanne and I and
our kids, and thankfully she got a full year with her
namesake and true love, our Emilie. We carry on her
wonderful polish legacy and zest for life. When her name
is mentioned smiles grow!
So, to sum up - Life is grand here in Plymouth - we are
very blessed - and yes Mom we do count them daily. You
taught us well.

Beth just introduced us to your "circle letter" web page.
It's nice to have access to what the family is doing. Tom
and I are doing well. As James said in his letter, we have
been putting a lot of time and energy (and money) into our
new addition. It is great.
We hope you are all doing well. By the way, I am coming to
a new point in my life. RETIRMENT!!! YAY! However, I do
have some mixed feelings. I have loved working with those
children. They are so inspirational and keep me on track
with what's important. I will miss them. It will be
interesting to see what new events will occure in my life
now.

Hello Everyone,
After reading Gerry's letter about the wedding next
June...I was thinking (hmmm) Why not have a one day major
reunion picnic (like the LaDuc reunion)...perhaps the day
after the wedding....and then lot's of mini reunions at
everybody's houses either the week before the wedding or
the week after...This could be a money saving way to
see everyone at the same time.... and then allow for
individuals to visit on a more personal level....Also, this
way, the out-of-towners could do all the fun Michigan
stuff...like riding on Tony and Sally's pontoon, eating at
the Creek, seeing Terry sing, maybe even going to Mackinaw
island or Brian and Nancy's cottage....maybe Greenfield
Village or a hot dog downtown????...Camp Dearborn or any
other campground would
be a lot of fun, but it may be too involved just for a
couple of days.... However as the contortionist once
said "I'm flexible"....I love you all!!!!

Dear Family,
This is getting to sound like a really good idea. Just
think a Stevenson wedding and then a Stevenson family
reunion and then a lot of Stevenson's just getting to
gether and then really seeing Michigan, like Mackinaw. WOW
I for one think it could fly, but it is real easy for me to
say this since I do not live in Michigan, but I can help
raise money, make phone calls, think of some good ideas,
plan accomodations for a lot of people (I'm really good at
that)or I can just sit back and wonder how this will all
happen.
The opportunity is there all we have to do is make it
happen.
Lets get the ball rolling and start planning.
By the way, I have been reading this letter since Scott was
kind enough to get it rolling and not once has anybody
asked where mom and dad were standing when this picture was
taken. Anybody know?
I love all of this great big family and can't wait to hear
all of the great ideas that will now pour in for this to
all happen

The Good Old Club House
Hi everyone!!
First of all, I believe the photo was taken when mom and
dad went to visit James and the gang. ( ? )
I love the Michigan day(s) event idia. The club house has
never looked better in a very long time (except when grampa
Wise looked after it) but it's a new day, things have
changed and it's not too bad for all the years.
Tony and I will be able to house about 8/10 guests. John
our basement would be a great apartment for you/Joy and the
boys. We will have two guest room W/bath by then also. I
love the ideas !!! I love weddings too and this will be a
good one!!
Today is Wednesday and I will be spending Thursday with
Jane and young Nan (the queens of planning) we'll talk
about it in GREAT detail. I love you all. Happy June !!

Hi everybody! Here’s what’s going on.
I’m in my 3rd year at Caesar’s as house pianist working
with the very talented Andrew James. We just finished our
first CD titled “Quite Frankly, it’s Andrew James”. I did
all the arrangements and it turned out pretty well. I also
completed another CD with Brian Duprey who is in“Legends
In Concert” as Frank Sinatra at Imperial Palace. I’m also
waiting to hear about my third CD with Mark Verabian who
does Dean Martin in the Rat Pack show. (We’ll get you
copies Jenny!)
Sharon is still working for Terrible Herbst, Inc at a new
Albertson’s down the street from the old one. She recently
visited her Dad, 92, who is still as sharp as ever and is
very much looking forward to visiting her granddaughters
(and daughter and son-in-law of course) who recently moved
to Connecticut.
We couldn’t be more proud of Rory. He has been working at
Nevada Palace for almost a year. He is very active in AA
for over a year working the program beautifully. He

As we mentioned before Lisa, Alan, and the girls Charlene,
9 and Roxanne, 4 just moved to Groton, Connecticut where
Alan will be an instructor at the Naval Base, no more
submarines for him!
Steven and Mary are doing great. They just moved into the
house two doors down as I submit this. It’s like Alsup all
over again! Thanks again for all that voted to make him
best bartender in the Las Vegas Weekly reader’s poll!
Mary’s oldest daughter Melisa had a baby girl in October
and is already expecting another one this winter. Which
means Steve will have more 'grandchildren' than we do! (so
far :)
Erin has been working for AAA for almost two years and
recently received a promotion as a Claims Coordinator.
She’s been dating a lighting designer Scott whose credits
include the 9/11 Tribute of Light in NY, March 2002.
That's all for now, we're all looking forward to the
reunion!

his car...well one day Bill had Tom's green station wagon
and he let me drive.....I got too close to the side of the

It is almost impossible to believe that you are 33
today. I clearly remember holding you on my lap while
driving my 1971 Pontiac down M-59 (How Dangerous!!!)....
I also remember how when I had mono and had to be home from
work for 6 weeks you were at our house during the day, and
we became such great buds...And although most of your life
we've lived in different states, that special feeling has

I'm trying to find out some information about the "Eun
Jim plus 12" boat. Does anyone know what year Dad bought
it, back when it had the 50 horse power engine, and what
year did he refurbish the interior, put the canvas top and
new 75 horse power engine on it.....and finally what was
the last summer it was in the water....Does anyone have
any photo's of it? Also, what size was it? (17 or 18')
We got a new boat (new to me anyway) and I have been
trying to tell our kids what "that" boat was like....
