a little SECRET in this big family!!!
Hey everybody~
There's an amazing unknown secret in this big old family
of ours and I am excited to be the one to bring it to our
attention!!!!
Jeff's wife Shelley is an INCREDIBLE artist!!! She brought
her portfolio up to my work yesterday when she picked up
her glasses and WOW was I pleasantly surprised...not at
the fact that she could DO such great work but because I
NEVER KNEW about her hidden talent!!! I told her to put
some samples of her work on the circle letter...I hope she
does!!! Especially her painting of Jesus walking on the
shore and you can see porpoises and whales etc... under
the water ... it's beautiful!!!! and she had some others
that were foggy skies ...it was just something how she
captured the fog!!! I can't wait for her to show us
all...she told me she is having a SHOW next month... it
will be nice to come out and support her... To the other
fellow artists in this family: i.e. Suzanne, Jeanne, Nancy
B.,Sarah Jane and anyone else I may have missed ~ I told
Shelley it's great to see more talent being joined in the
family~ I'm telling you~ God has RICHLY blessed US with
some of the most AWESOME talent around... so I just wanted
to introduce Shelley 's now as well and give KUDO's to her
for pursuing her gift!!!!
Come on Shelley~ let's see some of you work here soon :)
Lots of Love to you all~

I love that photo of James and Gerry, the begining and the

You're all just messin' with me - right?
I know I'm the family procrastinator and you're just
giving me a taste of my own medicine - right?
You're all just waiting until tomorrow to write your
checks - right?
Tomorrow is the last day for the 50-50 Drawing and my
mailbox is full of cobwebs. Oh sigh. Even the letter
carrier is leaving kleenex so I can wipe the tears out of
my eyes.
Lucky for you the drawing isn't until the 15th of March.
You still have time to write that check and get it to me
before then.
We're still a ways away from the $500.00, so if you
haven't sent your check yet - do it now.
You really don't want to miss out on your chance to take

I look forward to seeing my mailbox bulging at the
seams. : )

Author: bhnhr12@comcast.netMORE COMMENTS
Hi!
Can't let another day go by without some more comments.
Going a ways back, I love the picture of John and Joy's
feet. They haven't changed much, that's true; just maybe
John's big toe?
When I saw Danny's grandsons it was as if they
superimposed a picture of Grampa Dan onto Liam's body.
Almost scary. All the relatives are so darn goodlooking
as Suzanne said.
Nelson and Nathan are so adorable. In the picture of
Gramma, Grampa, Dad, Aunt Betty and George Wheeker, first
of all it kind of overwhelmed me because I never saw a
picture of Aunt Betty besides a year or two before she
died. This picture I thought looked like me; I know that
I kind of reminded Gramma of Aunt Betty (I think they used
to say that, especially when I was little and I sang etc.)
THEN, the more I looked at it, it looks like Terry and
Paul as well. I just can't get over it. What a tragedy
when she passed away. Also, cousin George somehow
reminded me of I think Nathan (maybe Kaden).
Speaking of Paul, when I saw the picture of Terry and
Alabama James I thought it was Terry and Paul. When I
realized it was James it was pretty surprising.
I get a meloncholy feeling when I see Wrigley's, A&P,
Woolworth's and the Mercury theatre. What memories they
bring....all good ones.
Lastly for now, what are James, Bill, and Bob looking at
in the Branson picture? James and Bob are so serious and
Bill is kind of smiling. Does anyone know? Just curious.
Esther & Tom, you look great! Happy belated birthday,
Esther; may God continue to bless you. All the couples
look great. What a time we had.
Love to each and everyone of you. Nancy

Hi Everyone,
What fun it is to see these photos and shared memories. The
picture of John and Joy was taken at the LaDuke Reunion in
1976, I am standing behind John and Joy and cousin Paulette
(Elwart) Miers is standing behind me. My guess is that this
little mystery girl might be one of her grandkids? Anyone?
We don't have a scanner so we can't share photos but we
will mostlikely get one soon and I will share some photos
too. I have a lot of Grandma and Grandpa (Mom and Dads)
albums with plenty of fun things to share. Thanks Scott and
Brother James for allowing this website to happen. Kelly
and I just got back from a 8 day vacation in sunny Florida.
It was wonderful. I will mostlikely be retiring from GM
this year but don't have an exact date yet. Right after I
retire I'm sure we'll be off to Las Vegas to visit Bill and
Sharon and their family as well as our dearest friends Romy
and Norie Navarra from Henderson, Nevada. Much Love to you

Author: ghull9@att.netLoving these photos, here's another of Grandma & Grandpa
Click here to see the above image full size in a pop-out window / tab (or right click and select "save as").
This photo comes to us courtesy of my father James who at my request sent
me a high resolution scan of it. It has hung on the wall of my folks' upstairs
studio in Santa Rosa for years. I'm not sure who took it but according to my
dad it was taken in 1986. I find that this photo really captures a good part of
their spirit. We see Grandpa James playing the piano and Grandma Eunice by
his side singing, both with big smiles. This photo is so precious as well
because they were snapped in the midst of a natural glory (from the flash
reflection off of the window behind) which so perfectly encompasses them
and really evokes the feeling of the love they shared. I believe this photo was
taken at Tony & Sally's old place on Perkins (judging by where the piano is in
relation to the window behind and recalling that there were a fair amount of
windows at Tony & Sally's place). Who took this photo?
Now, I liked Aunt Nancy's way of commenting on the previous photos so I will
do in kind of the photos that have been added since I added the photo of
Aunt Sally & Friends' jaunt here in Paris:
1. Joseph's haunting tree photo. Wow Joseph that is quite an impressive shot.
It really captures the spirit of winter time (with the lit clouds behind seeming
promising).
2.Loving the yellow combination that my brother Star threw together for the
disco themed run of Bay to Breakers. Star, that color is so you, you should
wear it more often! :-) (methinks of the yellow jersey too).
3. Aunt Janie's "Unexpected delivery", did you talk to the driver? Judging by
the photo it looks like the damage wasn't too great apart from the mailbox.
4. Roxy looks adorable Lisa! Correct me if I'm wrong but she's missing her
two front teeth there no? She must have just been losing her
baby teeth at that point.
5. I love that picture of Grandpa, Uncle Tom, Uncle Bill, and my Dad. It's
amazing but out of the three boys, to me Uncle Bill is the most recognizable,
he still has that cute and clever look. :-) Uncle Gerry when he was younger
looked a lot like Grandpa there.
6. Liam & Loki, what great names! I appreciate children's names that are
unusual but not weird that way the kids won't have to suffer teasing from
their peers as they grow up. Those are some handsome boy you two have got
there Matt & Ami.
7. Dad's crop of the 1976 Camp Dearborn picture. I like that very much and
like Aunt Nancy mentioned I did notice in the original photo that they were
holding hands and found that very sweet. The cropped version is a bit funny
though because Grandma seems to have a confused or concerned look in her
eyes.
8. Wow those are some amazing blue eyes. I remember Sarah had amazing
blue eyes as well. I most recall Sarah's eyes from when we were staying at
Perkins in the winter time (that time TJ would take my brothers and I up to
the hill across the street for sledding/toboganing). I think Sarah had to be 7
or 8 at the time. That's quite a name as well, "Lucy Jane Regan"! Very
beautiful little girl.
9. That's a great story Uncle John. How did Grandpa & Grandma happen to
have their photo on the wall? It's a pleasure to see them having such a good
time and smiling like that. Uncle John, I cropped your photo down at the
same time I was fixing Aunt Mary's photo problems. I'm guessing perhaps you
either new at scanning images or a little rusty.... seeing all of that blank white
space in the original image made me smile.
10. Uncle John your photo of Joy and yourself gave me a big smile. ! I believe
that's Uncle Bob in the background, as far as the child, I haven't a clue but I
hazard a guess (from the blondish hair) that maybe one of Uncle Tom and
Aunt Esthers? Those pepsi cans look ancient. You and Joy looks so cool there.
:-)
11. Conner James Garlak, I believe I saw Conner when he was a baby in a
crib! He's a handsome devil with a engaging gaze and charming smile. You
must be proud Grandma Mary!!! LOL!
While I realize we're all busy I would suggest that we each try to do our best
to comment about the photos of others and thereby encourage more
interaction and more photo sharing!
Thank you for everyone's expressions of appreciation. Also a big thank you
to those who've stuck with the letter all of these years and kept it alive! Those
who've done so are the heart and soul of this great sharing medium. It is a
very big pleasure for me to be able to offer something like this to the family
and help us all stay more connected!
Loved your compliment Aunt Nancy, I do my best to express myself with
some level of eloquence. Thanks!
Ok, always looking forward to seeing more photos and hoping to see other
family members (hint: Aunt Sally, Aunt Nancy, et al) adding some more.
Love to everyone!
-Scott

waiting in line we were looking around when all of a sudden

when we told them about it, they started laughing...they
knew it was there, but wanted us to be surprised....what an

Hi everyone~
This is Sarah Jane and Johnny's daughter, Lucy Jane Regan
at age 4 months... she will be 10
months on March 1st... we are all
anxiously awaiting her 2nd step... she has taken ONE step
now 4 different times but only with the
same foot and then she falls into your arms... tonight she
actually took 3 steps but with the same
(right) foot and almost like a semi circle... so we're
thinking it will be any day and she will
just take off.... So cute!!!
If this upload works, I will send more photos... I have
some great ones~ plus I will send some of
our new house and the other grandkids! Some I already have
on MYSPACE but for those of you who
don't go to MYSPACE you can see them here :)
I love you all so very much... this letter is such a
WONDERFUL thing....it's like Christmas everyday!

We Need MORE MORE MORE
Ahh, the summer of "42" knows, right Sal.
Nancy, "IT IS ABOUT DAMN TIME" you've come aboard the
"New and Improved Circle Letter". Great to see you here.
Now Nancy you are one of the smartest persons in this
Brother/Sisterhood and you can do this thing!
Ya Mom's a Fox. She look'n sooooo good and I'm old enough
to remember. [;-)>
Hmm.... Grandma LeDuke didn't smile much when taking
her picture. (Whats up with that?) Maybe it was losing
Grandpa LeDuke that made her so sad.
Yes Uncle Chick was George Weekers father.
I think we are going to use the picture of Mom and Dad
at Camp Dearborn (above) as the opening picture of the
Circle Letter for a time.
If any of you have a picture of Mom and Dad together
please post it on the Circle Letter.
This Circle Letter has come alive like the "Phoenix" flying
to heaven and back.
Love you all like crazy!

I wanted to say that the last picture of Dad and James and

one year old or so. Mom was probably in the hospital
having just given birth to me. :)

Hello Stevenson Family!
I'm finally on the circle letter to say how awesome this
is....the new and improved STEVENSON FAMILY CIRCLE LETTER,
with all the great pictures (new and old) thanks to you,
Scott and James and anyone elso who has had a part in this
miracle of a medium!
I have so many comments....no pictures yet. I'll probably
leave that to the expert of photography, my daughter
Nancy. She might not have the new site yet; she's
recently moved and is getting settled.
I have some comments on some of the pictures.
1) Mom is the beauty of her family. (Aunt Vivian is a
close second. She looks like Julia Roberts.)
2) Gramma LaDuc is not one bit photogenic. I know she
was sad after Grampa died, but why was she so sad in all
the earlier pictures...the one where mom was about 11 or
12..same thing.
3) Did you guys notice how cute in the Camp Dearborn
picture Mom and Dad are the way they're holding hands?
4) Aunt Cora is such a beauty in all of her pictures
especially the one where she looks like Margaret O'Brien
and Dad looks like young Johnny Stevenson. (Ira's not bad
lookin' either).
5) The bakery picture where Uncle Chick is standing next
to Grampa...is he George Weeker's father? He must be
because he looks like him. I wish we knew if Marilyn was
living.
6) In the old picture of Grampa and Gramma and Tom (Duke)
and Esther, I think that was Gramma's brother Milton and
Maude, his wife, who were Aunt Dorothea's parents. Aunt
Maude was killed in an auto accicent, I believe.
7) I love the picture of James and Beth at Ami's wedding.
James, you look mighty handsome.
8) I loved seeing the picture of Flora (what a doll) and
little Sophie.
9) I thought that picture of Roxanne was Marissa....they
could be twins.
I'm jealous that so many of you can do the picture thing
already....it's so great. Grace and Lilly's photo was the
first other than Scott's photos. (Scott, you're a handsome
kind of guy and you're so well spoken...I love to read
your letters.) It's so awesome to see so many of our
family members as they're growing up.
I just thank God for this family and all our blessings!
This circle letter will go on and on for years to come.
What a treasure!
With my love,
Nancy

Joseph,
Not quite, as the developer, my initial usage of the "live" system was in fact a
sort of "final test". The real test however comes when someone who's had
nothing to do with its development tries to use it in an unaided fashion. :-)
Capisce?
Cool to see you contributing here!

Author: Tunergye@hotmail.comAnd we're back! Who's going to "officially" try out the new system?
Ok, so Joseph technically did use the new uploading system (just below) but
he did so as a beta tester and I had to walk him through it and then do some
fixing up after he finished adding his letter. I believe the new system is ready
to go live and so I've made a link to it from the "Contribute" page
(Direct link: /photoalbum/letter/step1.htm). It is a bit simpler than
the old method in that there is no need to cut n' paste and it is one easy step
to follow after another. Who'll be the first to give the live version a spin?
Please be prepared to be patient for I had to exercise some new areas of my
brain to get this new system working (I relied upon another programming
language I've not worked with before) - meaning that there are liable to be
some bugs to be worked out and there may be a bump or two along the way.
:-) To everyone, if you use this new system and feel as though something
could be improved about it please don't hesitate to make suggestions for
improvements. Given some of the day to day time constraints I have I can't
promise I'll be able to make a particular change to suit a particular desire but
I'll be happy to consider it.
So to illustrate that this new system is functioning I've just added the
following picture. It was taken in June of 2005 when my mom
Suzanne Roach (to the left) was staying with me here in Paris and Aunt Sally
Lucca (nee Stevenson - just to the right of her and left of myself - Scott)
came to town for a quick jaunt with some friends of hers staying in an
appartment they all rented in the 14th arrondisement (I don't remember her
friends' names, sorry). As shown In the photo, I took us out for crepes at this
cafe next to the Centre (Georges) Pompidou.
http://www.centrepompidou.fr/Pompidou/Accueil.nsf/Document/HomePage?OpenDocument&L=2
Click here to see the above image full size in a pop-out window / tab (or right click and select "save as").
So who'll it be? Come on Aunt Sally, this new system is soooo easy, how's
about your putting up a picture or two? (don't let that stop
anyone else from beating her to it... hehe).
Love to you each and everyone,
-Scott

Ok, as I explained previously I don't know why the program we were using to
upload images ceased to function but I've got another solution in the works that
I have confirmed is functional. The thing is this new upload method will be even
better than the old in that it has a progress bar that shows the status of a file
being uploaded (ie: how much time you have left to wait). Over the next day or
so I'm going to be working to integrate it into our circle letter system and once
it's ready I'll make an announcement about it.
On a more person note: These jokes have been making me smile and chuckle...
makes me think back to one of Uncle Bob's Lake Mead houseboat trips where
we'd all sit around telling jokes in the evenings and one would branch off from
another... that was sooo great.
Ok everyone see you real soon!

There once was a small country called Froh that shared a
border with the larger country of Borlan. The ruler of
Froh was known as the Tuan. The king of Borlan was called
Beckan the Third.
His son fell in love with the Tuan of Froh’s daughter and
they planned to be married. The two fathers were so happy
that they merged the two countries as a wedding present.
Unfortunately, there was a tragic accident during the
wedding. Both fathers were killed which resulted in the

Has anyone heard of the world famous piano tuner who
worked through out Europe and in New York City between 1882
and 1910?
This piano tuner's name was Oper Knockaty.
All the best piano performers in the world were having
their piano tune by this wonder.
Around 1905, Gustav Malher was the director of the New
York Philharmonic and when Mr.Knockaty came to the United
States, Malher ask this piano tuner "Master" to tune the the
concert grands for the New York Philharmonic.
It was agreed that this genius would do the tuning.
Malher was so pleased with the tuning, that a month
later he spoke to his stage manager and ask him if Mr.
Knockaty could tune the concert grands once again.
The manage had to tell Mr. Malher,
Sorry Mr Malher but Oper Knockaty only tunes once.

Author: jis@windgifts.comProblems cropping out with our new host
Unfortunately unbeknownst to everyone here our new host has been a bit
problematic. It hasn't yet been a month and there's been a number of times that
the site wasn't responsive and been essentially offline. Now there seems to be a
problem with the hosting company's server as it is currently not possible to
upload files via the upload form (note Aunt Mary's misfortunate attempt below)
despite the fact that nothing has been change in the software (certainly nothing
by me). I've had to contact the tech support for this company now about 4-5
times for various issues and I've been giving them the benefit of the doubt but
now I'm just getting a bit tired of this nonsense. I've been discussing this with
my father and we're seriously considering pulling up out of this site. Fortunately
if we do move there won't be a whole lot of changes seen like their was this last
time. We own the domain name "windgifts.com" and so if we move everything
will move with us and bookmarks will not need to be updated. Over this next
week or so I'm going to be seriously examining our options for this idea.
Sorry to report this bad news. :-(

Nick is graduating this June from our very good community
college. He is putting in applications at four year
universities here in California to further study graphic arts.
His web page is voidix.com
He plays guitar and I hope someday he can play with the
Stevenson crew.

Author: LADYWITHART@GMAIL.COMSorry! For all of the notices... behind the scenes changes
Sorry to everyone, I made a mistake and did some testing on some behind the
scenes changes I've been working on.
My effort has been to make the letter processing software more efficient so that
we don't have to wait so long for that step in adding to the letter. These changes
are now in place, hopefully we'll all notice an improvement!

Ok, this rarely ever happens (in my 8 years of living here it has snowed at this

A small editor's note: on my last letter I didn't recognize Steve and Sally Hull and

James,
My guess would be Roseman Bridge, in Winterset, Iowa, in
Madison County.
If that is the case, Tom & Esther's initials are carved in
it and somewhere we have pictures of the two of us there.
For the rest of you.....this was one of the bridges
featured in the book and movie "THE BRIDGES OF MADISON

We have been to Winterset many times and we consider it
one of our "special places". We last stopped there last

you being that tall Mike, but you know a couple of years
can really change the way any of us look....We love going
to Gulf Shores Alabama to swim in the ocean, so
you will see a lot of pictures from there...Here's a
picture of Joy and me that I took.....we haven't changed
much since 1977...I've got another picture coming later
that will prove my point....the two boy are James and his
buddy Eric, who goes with us almost everywhere...sort of
like me and Kevin Laduc

one above did, I wasn't sure if anyone would regognize
us... Below is another one of our son James in his
Baywatch costume.... He is such a boy...all outdoors, we
feel lucky if we get him to where shoes....You know once
you sit down and start doing this, it's hard to
stop....

Hello everyone from Mike and Deb. It’s our turn to put up
some pictures on the Circle Letter. Here’s a couple of me
with Julia, Jessica and Michael. The first one is of me and
the kids here at our house in Canton. The second one is one
that Deb took of me and the kids at Disney World. I
certainly haven’t changed much since High School except for
losing some of my hair, but the kids are sure getting
bigger! We are loving this new picture capability on the web

Hello everybody,
Brother John has shown us a better way to contribute to
the Circle Letter.
If you are going to write a letter and have a image(s) with it,
" POST THE IMAGE FIRST "
After posting the image, then insert the letter.
A big help when adding a letter, is to compose the letter in a
" TEXT FILE "
Get the letter just the way you like it..... then
" Cut and Paste" the letter from your " Text File Software",
into the body of the Circle Letter.
Double check in the Circle Letter editing area and if its
just right, send it to the main Letter.
Love you all,
James.....

To the latest photo uploading debutants,
Great to see you folks joining the party! Man seeing all of these photos is
sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
oooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
ooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo awesome!
Matt, your and Mary's photos just bring tears of joy to my eyes. Being able to see
such treasured photos! Kathy and the rest of the Marshall Marylanders, you guys
just look great in your photo, all so nicely dressed and coiffed. Erin, that photo
of you and Grandma and Grandpa is so precioius... the way they look there is
really how I remember them. I'm loving seeing this photo of Grandma and
Grandpa with Uncles John and Gerry and Aunt Kelly (didn't know the hulls) taken
when I was just 4 years old! Lisa, your daughters look fabulous. They remind me
a bit of how Erin looked at those ages (especially Roxanne). Tommy your photo
is excellent as well! Everyone's got such great smiles there before the piano.
Brother Star's photos just make me smile (especially that pirate one... I love the
updated -sunglasses wearing- pirate look). Janie's photos bring a smile too. The
two boys fit so perfectly in that big 'ol chair.
It such a treat to see how being able to add photos to the letter so livens it up
and lightens it ever so much. I think I'll be updating the letter notification
system so that in the subject line it will say, "A New Letter - With Photos"
because they are so great to look at!
With much love from the city of light,
-Scott

Author: tstevens@visteon.comMore Old-Timey Photos
Hi All,
It is so great to finally be able to share photos and other
media on the Family site! Thanks Scott!
I have particularly enjoyed seeing photos from the
generations of Stevensons that I never had a chance to meet.
About 10 years ago I was doing a fair bit of genealogical
research (some of which I posted to the old site as text)
but Aunt Mary also sent me color copies of a few of her old
photos. I scanned them, and here they are, with some
descriptions based on the info Aunt Mary sent me at the time.
Ira Stevenson, Ada Stevenson, and their daughter Cora. Ira
Stevenson and Ada Stevenson are my great great grandparents.
Click here to see the above image full size in a pop-out window / tab (or right click and select "save as").
Cora Stevenson, James Ira Stevenson (my great grandfather)
and their grandfather Duggaw.
Click here to see the above image full size in a pop-out window / tab (or right click and select "save as").
? Duggaw. He is my 3 x great grandfather, and Ada (Duggaw)
Stevenson's father
Click here to see the above image full size in a pop-out window / tab (or right click and select "save as").
? Duggaw, Ada's mother
Click here to see the above image full size in a pop-out window / tab (or right click and select "save as").
This is a particularly interesting group photo, featuring
four generations. Clockwise, from the upper left: ? Duggaw,
Ada's mother; Ada Stevenson; Ada's maternal grandmother
Randall; Ada's daughter Cora; Ada's maternal grandfather (I
think?) Randall.
Click here to see the above image full size in a pop-out window / tab (or right click and select "save as").
Ira Stevenson standing in front of his bakery in Walled Lake
Michigan (this building is still standing!). Standing next
to him are his son-in-law Chick, husband of Cora, and
Roland, Cora's son from her first marriage. The rest of the
people are not related to the Stevenson family.
Click here to see the above image full size in a pop-out window / tab (or right click and select "save as").
I believe this is Samuel Gibson Rand, Grandma Matty's
grandfather. This man's resemblance to the Stevenson males
in my father's generation is startling, especially to James
and my father, Dan.
Click here to see the above image full size in a pop-out window / tab (or right click and select "save as").
I think it would be great to capture all of this information
in a more permanent form somehow, but still make it
available to anyone in the family who wants it. For example,
I know that shutterfly.com can produce hard bound books with
captions using photos that you upload to their site, and
they are not that expensive. They manufacture them
on-demand, so whoever wanted one could just order it. What
do you say Aunt Mary? Sounds like a fun project we could
work on in all of our 'spare' time, eh?!
I'll upload some pictures from the 21st century next time.
Cheers,
Matt

Still plenty of tickets left though, so keep those cards

Sorry, Lou, unfortunately, I don't have a PayPal account.
The addition of picture posting capability is awesome!
Regarding the pictures, I think my Grandpa Stevenson
(Mattie's Husband) looks like Jean Luc Picard from Star
Trek TNG in the picture from Lauder Street.
I'm also kind of surprised that Grandma Eunice and Kelly's
Mom would let Gerry and Kelly go to Camp Dearborn together
when they were 12 (at least that's how old they look in
the picture :)
This site is really getting to be fun, isn't it?
